Only if it has its own agenda, and if you go against its plans it really screws you over later down the line some how.
Having a sort of good, kind of bad mushy mushy desire demon is boring as hell.

Even Justice had it own agenda. And I can't imagine Desire Demon to be good and caring. Even if they are one of the most understanding the ways and thoughts of mortals, they are still demons.
It's like...in Walking Dead, there were two kids with main group. And after seing a lot of people turn into zombies and rise after being killed, one kid stabbed his brother with a knife just for fun. He then said - "But, he'll rise again anyway". I think Desire Demons should be akin to kids, who tear legs and wings from flies out of curiosity. not because they want to cause pain and suffering (they crave desire after all) but because they have no moral system or have entirely different morals that is hard for mortals to understand.

As long as it has a penisey version. I'm all good.

Well still kind of scared that any demon will kill me. Or someone else...or everyone...

I like the idea in theory, but wasn't it said by either Anders or Merrill, I forgot which, that while a demon can easily hide a possession; it always turns into its true form or an abomination if its life is threatened?

That would be kinda hard to explain why there's a demon in the group to the more conservative or sane party members...

There may be anomaly or special kind of possession of the host. I bet there's not problem with solving this to be acceptable plot-wise.

No thanks, Anders was enough of a headache for me to deal with. Wynne's spirit seemed mostly compassionate and helpful. Justice (in awakenings) was very much like a child, seeing in black and white, but then he was inhabiting a corpse with little active emotion to affect him, only vague memories of the man he inhabited. This black and white world view didn't change in DA2 at all.  He just became violent as Anders' anger overwhelmed him.

These creatures are selfish, thinking only of their own desires, and using the desires of others to manipulate and steal their lives.

Firstly, I don't want a companion who is stealing the body of another just to hang out with my protagonist. Even if it isn't stealing another person's body, what motivation (aside from selfishness) would this type of creature have to help anyone? While this works for heartless bastard kinds of protagonist, why would someone who is basically a nice guy want to work with a companion like that?

And I always kill Kitty in Honnleath. Possess a child? Really? We all saw how well that went over in Redcliffe. Even the demon there isn't reasonable. She leaves without a fight ONLY if you intimidate her, or promise her she can come back and possess the boy at a later date. Time means nothing to these creatures, Anders tells you this. She was giving up little at that point, even without a fight. I also never left her alive to return to plague Connor at a later date.

Only thing I want to do to demons is kill them, not get all buddy buddy with them.

How do desire demons appear to asexuals? Furthermore, how would a desire demon manifest itself to Helen Keller if she were a mage?

Who was one of the most popular LI BioWare created? Viconia.

Popular with whom?  I never even acquired her as a party member in either game.

There is not a single story element mentioned here that could only be done with a Desire Demon as a companion, so why this obsession with that *particular* character?

Half-naked chick with gold pasties.  Ah, right.

Actually, now I'm hoping they DO include a DD companion, and it is:

Male in appearance
Ugly
not an LI option

Then we'll see how sincere this interest in the DD's personality is.

Actually i never mentioned  that Desire Demon should be a LI.
Why should there be a story element that could be done only with DD?
Desire Demon is the most sociable of demons. Sadly, every encounter with Pride Demons - the ony other "intelligent" kind of demons, ended up in fight and confrontation. And only with DD we can actually deal with - with the exception of Torpor in DA2.
I aready stated that Desire Demon should not manifest in her true form to avoid plot holes - like walking across the cities with the most vilified and shunned creatures in Thedas beside you.

And if BioWare decide that Desire Demon could be implemented in DA3 only as you described - male, ugly and non-LI, then I'll be very happy with it.

I like the idea of a companion possessed by a demon of desire, albeit briefly.

As to a companion who *is* a desire demon, I think we'd have to wait for a Stormbringer CRPG. If only such a thing were! I wouldn't mind facing down Elric... that would rock.

It would be cool if they were betraying us, using there sexuality to get you to do things for them then they reveal they were controlling you all along....or not if you have a rivalry with them (if such system is in DA3)

I think its a good idea anyway, would take good writing to not feel cheap though. Plus it would only affect one sexual orientation though, you could match its gender for male or female but you cant for sexuailty.

I don't even want to get into the unfortunate implications of a PC who lets a demon walk freely among the public...

Instead, how about a blood mage warden companion who's binded a (preferably) sloth demon to his staff. He's not possessed by the demon, but they're bonded in some way or another. The mage gets to harnass the demon's knowledge and power in combat and studies to reverse the taint, and in exchange, the demon gets to see the physical world. We could hear the demon talk in some instances, and so on. That way, there's a demon involved without the usual repercussions.

I don't know. I think that'd be pretty interesting.

The only example I remember is Connor. The templar in they Circle tower seemed different, like Desire Demon feeded off him, without possessing.
