Thanks to Chris for replying to this thread though! At least the other mods know not to delete it now :)

I would love to discuss Mass Effect 3 with the games writers at BioWare. But as a non-Canadian, non-USAmerican, there is very little opportunity to ever meet these guys in person.

Maybe we should have a Q and A type dealie with the writers over at Edmenton? Some online poll of favorite questions? I would love to discuss and learn more about the mass effect universe and the storytelling motivations behind things in the third game.

Mass Effect 3 story would be really interesting to learn more about.

Mike thinks its a good idea!

Kind Regards,

St Elmo.

QUESTIONS FOR THE POLL WILL BE ADDED TO A SPOILER THREAD , CLICK HERE TO ADD YOUR QUESTIONS! - Chris or Jessica, feel free to let us know how many q's the writers would be willing to answer!

If anyone has any ideas for a voting system to vote for the top x questions PM me. thanks!

- *to avoid spoilers in the non-spoiler section, I have added a story/campaign thread for people to post their questions about the narrative*

Marry the leadwriter so he can not avoid you/ get out of your way.
No, serious if there was an easy way a lot of people would be intrested in.

Another thing maybe "nail them down" on a convention.

No there isnt much you can do, if a writer dosnt come out on his own. Im sorry

The problem with the convention suggestion is that with ME3 a lot of people a skeptical about what a dev actually said and what some cheeky BSNer might be making up, whenever the convo is inevitably posted.

Somewhere where the answers are easily accessible or public would be wonderful as it would help to maintain a sense of continuity and solidity to the discussion.

I want to ask a few ME3 questions you see.

Just playng the devil advocate, the dev themself have the freedome to not discuss about it if they are not willing too (not their primary job after all).
The first step would be tryng with Chris Priestly and Jessica Merizan as they are the community managers, so they are the link between the fans (and haters) and the devs.

May be they could work something out though, like building a list of questions from fans about ME3, then they post back the answers from the devs later on the forum.
It' is not a real discussion, but it would be answers from the devs.

Of course and some of the writers are using the BSN in exactly this manner. But iam afraid not those specific your looking for.
If you were intrested in Multiplayer or specific LIs, your more likely to get a response. Also there have been rumors of members of the DA3 team, taking part in discussions here and there.
Also you get comments from the mods, (those employed by bioware) giving quality answers.

Check Mike Gamble's timeline on Twitter, he's not against the idea of a Q&A session. I guess we have to contact Jessica or Chris to see if it's possible. ;)

Now the fact that they are not answering is not really surprising, what happened to Jennifer Hepler shocked a lot of people (myself included) and the ending debacle brought more death threats and insults here on the BSN, on Twitter, via e-mail...
So the idea of a Q&A session is cool as long as it stays civil.

Perhaps an option would be for Bioware to accept our questions, either by Twitter, forum post, email etc and then make a Bioware blog entry or forum post with the questions and answers.

This would help ensure any session was not hijacked by trolls and would also serve to let us know, by the questions they picked to respond to, if they are genuinely avoiding the tough questions.

Win/win I think.

The jennifer helper thing was atrocious. People that did that really brang the community down.

I think that's the only way to go at this time. I'm not so sure about sending questions over Twitter, though. Posts (or polls) on the BSN and e-mails would probably be the best way.

A poll of the most popular questions seems only fair. Publically available so we know what to expect in what will be answered.

Didn't they do an AMAA on reddit? That was essentially an open forum for fans to talk with the community managers. Or are you suggesting that we talk with the developers/producers/etc?

In that case - good luck OP.

And the idea that a Q&A could remain civil - would be tough. Even on reddit there were some posts that got a bit heated - not too bad - but still noticeable. Though I suppose it was a 1000 times more civil than what would happen if they did the AMAA on 4chan..ugh.

I support this OP! Lets hope this thread doesn't get closed tho :(

I don't think they did a reddit AMAA? Although they did go at least to a few outside forums.

Anyways a Reddit AMAA seems to be the best option. Its worked so far for Blizzard, even with the debacle that is D3 there was still good questions and discussion. The mods for the Reddit can delete the obvious inflaming posts and anything that the community doesn't care for simply doesn't get enough votes.

Why should Casey or anyone else involved be interested in an honest Q & A now? They havent been there to answer our questions back then when the game came out.

Has there been a Q&A for DA2?

Well I do know that in the Reddit AMAA with Jessica, Chris, and Fernando (I think) they got down and dirty with many of the questions.

Yes some never got the light of day but some of the big topics were:
Harbinger
The endings
   - What they thought of them/their choices
    - Fan reactions
DLC

Yes, some of our more glaring questions were not answered but at least we could ask them without being censored or screened.

Have you heard of Reddit? It's a little website a couple people visit.  You should google the IAMA they already did.

Would be nice if for once they used the community site to do something with/for the community. Nothing has really been done here since the bizarre mess that was the BioWare bazaar.

OP said he/she would like a discussion with the writers, not community managers. As far as I know, IAMA didn't include that.

Thats the trick, you can usually talk with the writers before a game release. ;)
