If you thought Kaidan was interesting you must have been romancing him because there is no way the average person would have some dude complaining about headaches while saying he doesn't like to complain in the most monotone voice be considered "interesting."

I don't know, I wasn't terribly impressed with him. Hopefully, Bioware can flesh him out a bit so he doesn't turn into another fangirl's Gary Stu kind of character like Johnny in MGS4.

I don't *hate* Cullen, but I don't particularly *love* him either. I don't see why he can't be in the game, and even be an LI. But, I want to avoid "small world" syndrome. It was weird enough sitting in the Gallows with Anders (who I am romancing) right next to me and Cullen pining for my female Amell Warden (Hawke's cousin) in a wistful daydream (who recruited Anders into the Wardens) and see no acknowledgement of any sort on anyone's part.

I also don't think you need to drag in everyone from every single game ever because you are running out of ideas like the RPG equivalent of "How I Met Your Mother."

The reason is because Cullen is that forbidden piece of fruit that you couldn't have(until DA3?).

You get to see him when you play the mage story in DAO, and you find out that he has a massive crush on your fem mage. You talk to him and he's all stuttering sweetness and so adorable. Then later in the story you find out that he's been basically tortured sexually by a demon who's portraying his fantasy, your fem mage. He then loses that stuttering, boyish charm and he becomes a bit broody(and even hotter!).

Well along comes DA2, and we find that Cullen has evolved into an even sexier man(if that's possible). He still sees mages as "bad" due to his ordeal in the tower, but he's not wanting to go on a killing spree. He can see reason now and learns that not all the mages are as bad as he once thought. He even still carries a torch for his long lost fem mage that became the Hero of Fereldan(:wub:).


As long as they don't change him too much(like Anders), and keep Greg Ellis as his voice actor, I am all for him becoming a companion. <3<3

I've never understood it.

Its possibly because of his role in the Mage Origin story and the fact that he reappears later on in DAO and returns in DA2.

Otherwise, at least to me, he seems no different than any other NPC.

I'm an Anders fan girl and 100% pro mage but Cullen gets my fangirl "feels" going. :P

For starters, like Anders, he only does what he believes in. He thought Gregoir was too soft, so he left Ferelden to be on Kirkwall. He belives Meredith may be a bit too strict but he believes in her and obeys her.. Meanwhile, even believing in Meredith's tough apporach, he shows mercy to Keram and to mages Hawke arrests. If you have Bethany he also shows mercy by not arresting your mother, your uncle and Hawke. When he sees Meredith go whacko he puts himself between her and the mages and Hawke.

He is like the "Templar Anders" to me, passionate, honest, more interested in justice than in rules. I respect him more than Thrask. Is easy to see Meredith is wrong if your daughter is a mage. Cullen arrives to the same conclusion by himself, he didn't need to have a close family member at risk to re-evaluate his beliefs. I really respect a character like that. He may be wrong but he is always trying to make things better and to make himself better.

Plus he is cute and his VA is awesome ;)

Ok yes if you choose to free to mages he goes crazy and kills a bunch of mages apparently(which i have never freed the mages even as a mage, i just heard this) and yes he is hardcore in DA2; However, in my opinion he has come a long way in DA2. He wasn't as akward and to me he was more honorable. When you side with the templars he even supports you when you decide to let mages go even though Meredith wants them killed. This tells me he is not at all a cold blooded killer or ruthless.Even as a mage in DA2 He stood up for Hawke when Meredith said she was going to kill her/him. An many fangirls fell for him in Origins beause he was so akward and cute about his feelings for Amell. This is my opinions but i am sure other fangirls have their reasons as well.

It's not that he's cold-blooded or ruthelss, it's that he specifically tells an Amell/Surana that he would have killed her if he had to, despite having an obvious crush on her.  He holds power over a mage and he doesn't seem bothered by that in the least, nor does he expect the mages to have a problem with that because ~it's the way things are~.
