Huh this makes no sense! My Female Pro didn't have to break up with Alister as a human Noble hell you can become his queen if played right. Only way you can't is if you play as a mage.elf or Dwarf.  So thats not the reason we want Cullen. Hes a mysterious and handsome NPC. With just enough back ground for the Devs to build upon.

He's mysterious and hansome?  Then Zevran is tall and shy.  His character is a more mage hating version of Alistair (minus the wit).  with a short jew-fro and ugly face.  I support him being a li in DA3.  I just more support an option to kill him in DA3 (for the good of humanity).

I have a bit of a man-crush on Cullen because he was badass in DA2 and one of the few sane characters (lets ignore the MAGES ARENT PEOPLE LIKE YOU AND ME to mage hawke dialogue) in the game. I also like Nathaniel because he's awesome and such a gentleman to Velanna so I can see the fangirl appeal in him too.

This is slowly becoming a troll thread.. The OP asked why people like Cullen so much. We explain and then the haters hit back with insults. Ask a question, you get an answer there is no logical reason for why you felt you had to disagree with the answers. Its just an endless loop everyone is defending themselves and no one is willing to give in and why should they? We all have different opinions, why do we have to have a debate about whose is better or which is right? Why is it so hard to understand that we like Cullen. End of. If you don't, that's fine too but don't try and change our minds just because you don't like it. There are always going to be two sides no amount of arguing is going to change that. So cant you just leave it be...?

Cullen in the game was pretty creepy during DA:O, I played a female elven Mage as my first character and the way Cullen behaved may have been cute if the character wasnt a Mage in a tower being held prisoner by this guys very own group.  The best case scenereo for Cullen is that it gave me the creepy camp counciler eyeing up the young girl vibes. 

Once I knew more about the Mage/Templar situation in Thedas it was much worse, and keeps getting worse knowing that Cullen sees mages as less then human and barely more then animals, but I guess thats why Templar's who rape mages dont really get punished, to them its no worse then kicking a dog.

I loved him from my first play through on dragon age as I always play as a mage on all rpgs first

he was so cute and then the mages made him be less forgiving of mages but then when meredith went off her head in dragon age 2 he had some of the good and decent person he used to be shine through

thats why I like him

I think it's more accurate to say that he's Dragon Age's version Boba Fett.   Only he doesn't wear a helmet because that would mess up his hair.
