Destroy:
The people who picked Destroy have done so based on three full games of empirical evidence that the Reapers need to be stopped, at all costs.
Yeah, STOPPED. Not DESTROYED
Seriously why all destroyers are so butthurt about other people's choices. You're the worst part of this community.

Yup, enjoy not solving the organics-synthetics conflict and wait for another Reapers to appear
Oh, I forgot about the Geth genocide and wasting Legion's sacrifice.

The Catalyst was not the one to introduce Synthesis. Saren foreshadowed Synthesis in the first game, and Kai Leng also endorsed it. Fun fact, both Saren and Kai Lang are the only two people to canonly defeat Shepard.ElSuperGecko wrote...
Synthesis:
The people who picked Synthesis have done so after being introduced to the idea by the being that created the Reapers (and the entire cycle of extinction, and the horror the galaxy is currently facing) in the first place, and given less than a minute of sketchy dialogue and vague reassurances about the process in the last couple of minutes of the final game of the series. There is no foreshadowing of this option, no empirical in-game evidence to draw from when you make the decision. You are doing nothing more than taking a leap of faith, based on nothing more than the word of your greatest enemy (a being whose flawed logic lead it to think nothing of exterminating it's own creators), with the future of every living being in the galaxy riding on the outcome.

True enough, but I thought I'd stay away from the Saren/Synthesis argument because it tends to make pro-Synthesists wail like banshees. "But it's not the same thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing".

Not butthurt, just amused by how easily manipulated other people can be, and how quick they are to forget twhat's important and sell their friends and allies up the river so they don't have to make a hard decision.

control - an indoctrinated TiM tells you to pick control, indoctrinated means the reapers are controlling/manipulating him, basically the reapers WANT you to pick it.
doing so ends in shepard commiting suicide
synthesis - the AI controllling the reapers, the one responsible for unimaginable amounts of death and destruction, WANTS you to pick synthesis, which turns everyone into synthetic/organic hybrids, which is what the ****in reapers are trying to do.
this also ends in shepard commiting suicide
destroy - destroy the reapers, shame the geth and edi are destroyed but its a sacrifice we must make, atleast were loosing technology rather than actual lifes.
shepard lives presuming you dont suck

Agreed - lets just take what the genocidal star-child says at face value even though this whole game has been about making decisions on things below the surface and not just based on the words on the screen. I would even go as far to say that the Geth and EDI are alive. The whole "you'll wipe out all synthetic life" seems like something a reaper would say!
P.S. for the IT believers out there, the whole thing with the boy in the beginning playing with a toy normandy reeks of a hint that there is an essence of control going on of Shepard via indoctrination.
Destroy is the answer

EDI: If the Normandy were captured, my fate would become similar to the indoctrinated. My code would be rewritten. I would rather become non functional than help them. If you perish first, I want you to know that I will never be a part of the reaper forces. The Reapers must be defeated, not because they threaten death, but because the threat of death makes us die inside. It is the right of sapients to live freely and securely. That is worth non-functionality.

their loyalty is programmed, and it lies on the flick of a switch
destroy is completing your mission at the cost of technology, the other 2 end with the you siding with the reapers, which is betraying the entire galaxy
so forgive me for putting the needs of billions of people infront of machines

It said it before the activation of Crucible.
Tell your favourite Geth that you had choice of either giving the Geth full sentience or murdering them

The humans and other races are also machines. Organic machines. The probability of Geth betraying you is the same as probability of organic betraying you.

And how is that a betrayal? They don't defeat you
And in control ending you don't ally with them, you DOMINATE them.
Destroy ending is short minded. "Let's kill everything, that's the easiest solution"

Nobody dies and the survivors are still the same people except with some fancy tech. It's not a defeat. It's actually a victory for both sides

they are still alive in control too, the reapers who have pumped themselves full of organic juices of long forgotten dead races, and if you didnt stop them, theyd do it your friends too

Destroy completes Shepard's mission, but it doesn't solve the bigger problem. However, Synthesis does. Some people seem to forget the reason why the Reapers exist.
