Also, I could care more or less for spikes but please not boring stuff that actually looks like it came from a history book. I want to look cool, not boring.
To each his own, but I'd like my character to look appropriate for the situation he's in, with attire and armour that is functional and in tune with the general atmosphere of the game.
That to me is 'cool'. Cool arises out of context, it's not some extracontextual thing that just *is* by some intrinsic virtue of being cool.
Come to think of it, I hate meaningless words like 'cool' or 'fun'.
You're not cool or fun!

I would also really like the move to allow both to be pushed toward weapons as well. Rather than have super good stats on a really freaky looking/over the top weapon design, can we get comparable weapons that look normal? Please? I am not asking for the REMOVAL of anything, just adding in more realistic/normal/less exaggerated stuff of equal value.

Eh, I didn't like it. That chest piece is really hideous-looking.

Though both had their armors that were terribad. Any armor that leaves exposed skin is just ridiculous.
For example,

First off, WAY too many spikes(but anyway), on the left, the Mage version. That left arm.
That's like ASKING someone to go cut it off.

Also, the Blur cinematic Warden armor concept is the exact same design as the DA2 Warden armor. The Blur one just looks better because its rendered in far better tech.

Poor Alistair must have been born with a rare disorder, all his internal organs are crammed into his chest and there is nothing to protect below his ribs.
Oh, and I sure hope he never picks anything up from the floor when he is wearing that thing, he would surely bleed to death when the pointy end of the chest plate stabs his abdominal artery.

Those unidentifiable things that go below chin in the champion armour always reminded me of a trough.

I know that keeping the protagonist well fed is important, I just hope BW uses nosebags in DAI. They're less spiky and more practical.

I am very very certain that those burger feeding troughs were imitations of the dead space armor

wasn't there even a cross-over promo with dead space armor in DA2?

except that they served a function in dead space, and here they just look.....cool?
edit: ^ oh great, now i demand nosebags for everyone in DA3

I'm afraid both of your objection fail because oyu fail to take into account two things:
1) there's scale mail protecting his abdomen.
2) Not sharp enough. Huma skin is stretchy b.t.w.

Good find;).
I think you can actually see more cases of EA artists borrowing stuff from each other - or perhaps they are even the same artists. And they may have copied...well...

The ultimate inspiration may have been something you see here:

It's a gorget that protects your neck. You can sort of see from the way it's designed that it allows a fair degree of head movement, as well as give a very high degree of protection. The designers of Hawke's armour seem to have had peculiar ideas about form and function. It is a fine example of

(Though in Hawke's case, it is decidedly pointy if pointless armour. Mwuhahahahahahaha;))
That is pretty much you can describe quite a bit of fantasy armour by the way, including DA.
Rule of Cool applies...unless you don't feel it looks cool, which quit a few people do:whistle:
