Romances already take up a big chunk of content. They're not intended to take an equal place to the other pillars of the game, nor will they ever. We don't want to make them a bigger part of the game, so repeatedly suggesting how making them bigger would make them awesome is a bit beside the point.

Really, what's the point of creating characters if you can't make them miserable?
Oh, this is just too funny. Lmao. Slightly alarming, but funny.

Ugh... I'd switch the stuffing and mashed potatoes around. Game play and mechanics are significantly more important than romances. I'd also point out that "character interaction" is an overly broad term, and could in fact be the Gravy for the Turkey, thus making it part of the main course. or, on the other hand, they could be nothing but minor seasonings for the Stuffing, and not an integral part of the dinner at all.NovaBlastMarketing wrote...
This is my view on how it should be
Turkey - the main plot story
Mash potatoes - character interaction/ romance
Stuffing - is the game play and mechanics
It's hard to accurately make these sorts of analogies when trying to describe the ideal makeup of an RPG. Personally, I see RPGs as whole supermarkets full of groceries, and who's to say what's going to be on your weekly shopping list?

We know romances are popular. Not liking them won't make them less popular. Lots of threads by the same people also won't make us turn the game into the romance simulator. We're well aware the forums are a big fishbowl, and anything said here is taken with a giant grain of salt.
IMO I don't see why anyone would ever think that any of your games has ever come even close to a dating sim in any of your games. That's why I choose to use the phrase "double the content " in one of my last responses " to show how disproportionate the ratios were.
There hasn't been enough romance material to even get close to that but even if it was a "dating sim" is closer to a true RPG that my favorite example of a waste of time and money from another company could think of becoming.
If people don't want to romance they can just skip that content and get back to mindless button mashing and killing stuff ..
My whole issue is I believe that romance and character interaction and romance should be of at least equal importance just feel the proportions are unbalanced and always have been that is one of the reasons I am vocal
Take a Turkey dinner for example
This is my view on how it should be
Turkey - the main plot story
Mash potatoes - character interaction/ romance
Stuffing - is the game play and mechanics
It should al be able to on the plate in equal proportions
What I always perceive as happing as everything else takes up the whole plate and romance ends up being a splash of gravy or in some of your games just simple dinner roll.
All i am really asking for is that Romance interactions join the plate even something like I presented in this thread would make a world of difference's

Maybe all the negative writers will be eaten by some kind of despair-induced black hole, bringing down the hammer of poetic justice or something. I don't even believe in poetic justice and I still want to see that. Although if anyone would be eaten by a black hole, there are those from a different development team who'd be at the top of my list.David Gaider wrote...

Pretty sure Sheryl's statement was meant to convey the exact opposite. Creating characters and then putting those characters through misery is not "pandering," in fact I'd say it has little to do with it one way or the other. It just the opposite of some happy-go-lucky self-indulgent fanfic in which everyone is happy and gets what they wants.
