OMG. Save her from the dark side then!!

Meh. It's kind of fun to watch, actually. Eventually Sheryl and Sylvia will need to duel with light sabers over who assumes Luke's Mantle of Despair. I'm calling it now.

What about Tonia? Is she part of the dark side? Or does she use the force?

I enjoy the misery of others, as most writers do.

NOoooooooooooOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooOOOOO!
I love you Tonia, don't do this to my already broken heart!:crying:

Honestly, for me it's not so much about making more romantic content, as it is.....pacing? it out. I'm trying to say managing the build up. Parsing it up so it's not one big romantic glob. At predetermined times. Specifically. And always...

Just have it feel more natural.

So you want a nudist companion?

You're sick and need help.

:innocent:

you know, and as I was typing in the word "natural", I knew someone was gonna have something snarky to say.

Erm...I was only joking.

I was just highlighting how pretty reasonable requests can be taken to mean something ridiculous.

It happens often on here.

I know you were joking. I was only joking, too. But it did cross my mind when I was typing it.

We need more emoticons in this thread: :D;):wizard:

Emzam has this incredible habit of posting evidence that disproves her assertions then confidently claiming it does the opposite.

It's fascinating.

there needs to be... more than one person

I'd have no problem with a Dragon Age game that just had one male and one female romance.

Or moving 'romances' to regular NPCs.

How about one option, a dynamically-gendered Desire Spirit?

This is something I've suggested in the past. One male romance, one female romance, with twice as much content. More options, more dialog, more cinematics, more permutations, etc.  I would really like to see Bioware try this at least once.

I have a bad feeling this thread is going to get locked soon, so how about we go back on topic? Can romances and friendships go back to the way they were in DA:O? Please?

In what respects were they different in DA2?

On topic answer:

No.  I don't think they're  going to be like that anymore.  If you mean shoving gifts in their faces until they loved you, I mean...

Not being able to talk to your companions whenever you want and having only four to five conversations with them only. You could only talk to the DA2 companions at their 'home base' and whenever the game prompted you to do so. (Quest- Talk to Anders, etc.)

This was perfectly reasonable behaviour from Carth.

Indeed.  It was more of a mechanical issue in KOTOR because of the way conversations were initiated by the NPCs:  "Carth looks like he has something to say."  So after looking like he'd have something to say, he'd say how he'd like to say something, but can't yet because he doesn't trust you.  Which after the third time became kind of amusing.

Super off-topic though.

So your issue is not with the content of the romances, but the availability to advance said romance at the player character's leisure?

Since  no  tool has  been given to let modders  mod any of your game content since BG2

Neverwinter Nights?
Dragon Age: Origins?

Im sorry  stand corrected since DAO
I  not  a Modder  and to be honest  never  played never winter nights ...I have to look into that

Searching for  romance mods  for dao   just gave me  enhancements. Not the type of  mod  that were found for bg2. that's not your fault though.

Anyways  sorry  if  my posts were harsh  David  has  basically made Bioware  stance  clear. I guess  just have to be  grateful I am  getting  a splash of   gravy  or dinner roll  on  my plate .  :(

I do  thanks you both appreciated  the time  you and David took out of your days to participate  in the discussion though.

How about no stupid, juvenile romances for once? Since Bioware can't get it right, get rid of all of it and use the zots elsewhere.

I think the best way to improve the romances is to combine the sheer volume of ME3, with the ability to romance them all of DA2. Imagine if you could actually romance all 7 female LI in ME3 as FemShep instead of just 3 out of 7, that would've given the game some serious replay value even if they hadn't fixed the original horrible ending. Romance is one of the most important parts of any game, obviously its not the 'only' part, but definitely the more the better, and it may be 'the' most important part of the game when it comes to desire to replay it once its over. The more romance the better!
