Because the women will see you as the douchehole you really are and if they have any self respect would dump your ass.

But since this is a BioWare game they will instead make you choose.

Why? Granted, I'm not the most experienced in these kinds of things, but is there some rule that says I can't love two people? Honest question.

I assume you're talking about real life here and not an in game rule preventing this.

In theory there is a thing called an open relationship. In reality it is so elusive that it is only seen on tv.

Now, strictly speaking you can date many people at the same time as long as you don't have a real committed relationship. Usually the break off point is when a couple start calling each other boyfriend/girlfriend. Any outside dating after that point is always a taboo. Some people tend to be more restrictive about how a possible significant other dates pre-boyfriend/girlfriend stage, but the good general rule of thumb is that until you're committed dating other people is fair game(this is because early dates are trial periods, a person who goes on a blind date has no obligation to the other person to not go on other blind dates).

Yeah, I liked that characters brought up the fact that you pursued more than one love interest.

Hell, I liked it when characters chimed in about your CHOICE in love interest.

For example, Wynne's Concerns on Morrigan Romance, and Wynne's Change of Heart On The Subject

Very well done segments.

I see. I will never be able to understand all these unspoken rules, but thank you for informing me.
Back on topic: In DA2, your romances are mentioned, but I've never changed romance mid-playthrough, so I wouldn't know anything about catfights. I'll cast my vote for realism. However the character would act, do that.

I loved the tense exchanges between those two. So much overall depth to be found in DA:O's banter. Morrigan prolaiming her hatred to Alistar over his comparing her nose to Flemeth's never gets old. I'll just stop now because I could go on for days on the nuggets of gold to be found by just walking around with different combinations of companions.

DAO was so rich with quality companion-to-companion dialogue. DA2 had its great bits as well, I recall Varric's chat with Merrill about the ball of string he gave her so she could find her way through Kirkwall.

Zevran and Loghain. Best banter ever.

I woyuld like that. I would also like for some of the romances to be polyamorous because it has not been done before and would make some of the banter priceless. A good way to read how its done would be to read the chapter in "The Mammoth Hunters" by Jean M Auel where she introduces Talut (I think was the characters name) and her 2 husbands. It was such a novel experrience reading about the intricacies of their relationship I would enjoy seeing such portrayed in a Bioware game.

By the opposite token I would love to see a LI have an extreme jealous reaction such as threaten to kill the other one or have a bar fight and the protagonist having to take a lot of well deserved flak for instigating such an event.

I loved those 'catfights' in DA:O. And I really would have loved for my LIs in DA 2 to express some jealousy. I would have given my left foot for Merrill to show some possessiveness. Because there's just something hot about jealousy. (In video games, mind you. Real life can be very different in that aspect.)

But of course that type of dialouge should fit the character.

Just thought of this. Joker was wise in asking Shepard to "take pictures."

I'd prefer more confrontations between companions in general, rather than just a catfight (which I find unnecessary).

Meh, if they are well written then sure, but just having them for the sake of having cat fights is stupid and a waste of time.

If it makes sense, I guess. But I'd like to see it where you cheat, and both of them dump you.

No catfights, no choice, just you alone.

I'd be down with this. (Though I never figured out how to dump anyone in DA2 and had to romance Isabella one playthrough)

Romances running on a little separate timeline sort of thing from the rest of the game would be awesome. Would make it way easier to stick it to one girl and then leave her to go stick it to the other and have awesome party banter.

However, it would have to work so that romancing one person didn't close off romancing another. For example, I never found a way to romance Lelianna if I romanced Morrigan first in DAO. She would be all uppity.

I think it would be awesome if certain LI would actually kill other LI (or leave forever). That would add to RP and make it more believable me thinks. (I'm serious about thhis, even if what I wrote below isn't ment to be serious)

Fist fight! :)

"Take that Isabella!" BAM BAM

"Damn Merril, you pack a punch" *Isabella wipes her nose* "No man is worth this" *Isabella leaves*

Fenris slams into Merril "No mage is going to take my woman/man" Merril is passed out on the ground.

Anders runs in and turns into justice "You will not harm another mage!" Kills Fenris.

And then the chantry explodes.

And then Hawk leaves and never returns to Kirkwall.

Or make it so I could kill a LI after the sex scene.

Yes I agree. This makes it all much more immersive. And perhaps for LI to be teased about it during party banter (like in DA2) as well.

Do people really have such underdeveloped egos that they want to watch pixel people fight over their self insert?

Only if it actually fits in with their character. It didn't make much sense for say, Iasabela to get furious at Merrill if you sleep with the two of them, which is why she simply says that she is happy for the two of them (If a little disappointed). In a way it was actually refreshing that they had a strong friendship and did not suddenly devolve into ****y arguments the moment the PC gets involved.

Personally, if a PC strings along two characters i would like to see them confront each other.......and then realize they are both being used and go out to have a few drinks, becoming fast friends and resolving not to bother with the **** who was cheating on them.

Sure I guess. Wouldn't really care if it wasn't in there tho. There's enough relationship drama in real life after all.
