Oghren: Hey, elf. You're all right.
Zevran: Am I?
Oghren: Aye. I was thinking, I was thinking that you're... you're just all right.
Zevran: Drunk again, Oghren?
Oghren: "Drunk again, Oghren?" You sound like my father. He was all, "You're drunk; stop wetting on the table."
Zevran: How dare he.
Oghren: Least my mom had the good sense to hide the booze from him. So, you know, she could drink where he couldn't see her. (Laughs)
Zevran: That's heartwarming.
Oghren: Hey buddy, let's not go crazy or anything. Keep your pants where I can see 'em.
and this
Oghren: All right. I guess you aren't all that bad.
Zevran: You just decided that, did you?
Oghren: Well, I've watch you fight. You could be worse, I guess.
Zevran: From you, that's practically a proposal of marriage.
Oghren: Don't get excited or nothin'. You're not what I'm looking for in a wife.
Zevran: Considering what happened to your last wife, I'll count myself as fortunate.

He must either:
A) Shave off that sad, stupid little soul patch OR
I like Nathaniel, but dammit, I just want to crush his head with a rock whenever I see that pathetic excuse for a beard. BE A MAN, HOWE.

Hmm, can't say I need him as a companion, but I would be interested in Howe returning to the DA3 cast. In my opinion, he was one of the more under-rated characters of the series. Also my favorite Awakening companion, after Anders (who is hilarious).
Agreed. At first i thought he would grate my nerves with the whole "you killed my father angle", but he turned out to be a sensible character who's capable of forgiveness without the extended melodrama. Plus his diss on Velana's ears is hilarious.
In general, the party banter was excellent. I just got through rereading that convo where Howe rips on her about the Elves being immortal. Absolutely hilarious.

I would support you in having Nathaniel as a LI, as long as my demands are met.

Aw, you poor thing. I weep for you, and hope you find the way to truth soon.

How would you romancers feel if Nathaniel is in a relationship with Velana/Sigrun or whoever, and turns down your advances?
*edit*
He just wouldn't be able to ignore how amazing our protagonist is. She/He would be just that great! <3

omg i think i need to go play dao now all this talk of nathaniel just has me smiling
I joke with you, but I do actually like Nathaniel Howe as a character. He's actually got an interesting backstory that is directly tied in with your own previous actions, which makes his pain and anger feel far more complex and personal. I like it.
(But seriously, grow a real beard, man. I love you too much to watch you do this to yourself.)

I kinda hope he doesn't, my DAA save glitched him into death, even though he was in my party.
Well if you're on PC, you can always use this mod to see if it will bring him into your new game.

It lets you generate saves so that you don't have to go through DAO again(if you don't want to). It includes all of the DLC content and Awakening. It's pretty cool.
