During the Inquisition of Spanish history, everyone was being questioned; the time period was crazy. Perhaps we may be evading the Inquistion for our own safety or the safety of our world.

The only way we can become safe is to discover the roots of the world epidemic and try to do something about it.

It would make sense from the Mage perspective when other theories make you question how they would become Inquisitors.

I am just throwing in my two cents. Agree and Disagree!

You know my mother??

She's only avarice when working though.

Edit: Inquisition has several connotations which can be both positive and negative.

It can simply mean seeking answers as you say, rather than the more bloody alternative.

Maybe we aren't. At this stage, every theory is exactly as likely as every other theory.

I agree. I think the "Inquisition" is something that is going to be happening, for the large part, parallel to whatever our PC's are up to. We will probably have options to assist or undermine it as we go along though.

That being said, being an inquisitor would be a significantly better hook then "I must go forth and save the world, lest the inquisition come to my village".

There damn well better be some Monty Python jokes in the game given the title and setting.

I disagree. I'm fairly certain that my theory of the protagonist being a bog leech is less likely than someone else's theory of the protagonist being a human.

-He's not the Inqusitor, he's a very naughty boy.

- He must be a King
- Whys that then?
- He hasn't got Mabari **** all over him.

--Listen. Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.

Suddenly, the Abomination Giant Rat returns... this time at the entrance of a Dank Cave. Now, it has a jumping attack that beheads companions and tears out your throat.

I think it's patently obvious that the previous two games have been leading up to a bog leech protagonist. Some people just don't pay attention.

Well, the supposed leak, which has been right so far, had a summary that said in no uncertain terms that the main character would be the Inquisitor. Something about "Taking up the mantle of the Inquisitor..." or something to that effect.

I would approve of that; no way do I want to be the Chantry's lapdog. Rather punch out the Divine than talk to her.

Really?

It's *equally* likely that we'll get at least 1 human companion and David Gaider will make an appearance as a nude competitor in the Greasy Pole competition?

Wow.

I so want this to be an actual physical item of some kind.

I hope we're not. But I'd also prefer to not be their target either. It also poses some interesting issues for class differences. I'm curious to see how they work it out.

The Inquisition was the old name for the Templar Order before they threw in with the chantry.

During an interview, David Gaider expressed interest in the Inquisition making a comeback in DA's future now that the Templars are no longer part of the Chantry.

So that's likely the origin of the title. Templars resume being the Inquisition and make everybody's lives hell. And by the end you'll probably get the choice to support or destroy them.

Unless of course a greater threat emerges to make the two sides cooperate.(Would make the most sense if there is to be a Dragon Age IV. Since siding with one side or the other would call for the next installment to be totally separate games.)

Spanish Inquisition =/= DA Inquisition

That means, unless we get more details, we can't automatically assume that the Inquistion is working for the Chantry, just because the RL Inquiestion was part of the Church. We all know what happens when we assume things in Thedas. You only make an ass out of u and me.

If the leaked info was correct about most of the high ranking Chantry member getting killed, I wouldn't be surprised if either King Alistair (and/or Anora), the Empress (if she's still alive), and a couple other rulers founded the Inquisition to find out what the Void is happening in Thedas.

This is something that only occurred to me yesterday (I'm a bit slow like that.)

I mean, just because the title is going to be called "Dragon Age 3: Inquisition" like the leaked survey suggested, doesn't mean everything else in the survey was legit... It could have been a lucky guess since there were a few hints about it in DA2 etc. With that in mind, maybe the "Inquisition" will be what the newly rebelled Seekers/Templars decide to rename themselves because they're going back to "the old ways" where they'd hunt/kill mages etc. Perhaps our protagonist won't be part of the Inquisition at all.

David Gaider said this in another thrend i think it bears repeting

Every now and again some of the speculation is correct-- but even a dead clock is bound to be right at least twice a day.
