I liked them as slightly shorter humans honestly, it went with the more realistic style fantasy Origins (Yes, i said realistic fantasy) seemed to go for - they were not alien...just different....enough to be discriminated against.

Well, in some sense the DA2 style *is* realistic.

For a species that's almost been completely phased out by evolution.

I wish they did revert to the DAO design. DA2's elves were awful. They looked like mutants or something.

I hated the new design with a passion. The elves would look like an abacus with ears, if they eat peas. Thats how skinny they are!

They didn't look distinct from humans as a different race, they just looked like malnourished, pointy eared people with Welsh accents (also known as everyone from Wales). 

If they're looking for inspiration from Skyrim I hope they take the Elf design from that game into consideration.

Please no; elves in Skyrim look horrible. At least DA2 had Merrill and Athenril; I can't remember a single Skyrim elf that I didn't think was completely ugly.

That's the point. They're a different race why would humans find them attractive?

To everyone who doesnt like the new Elf Art Direction: Get used to it. Bioware isnt going to change it and argueing against it at every oportunity is just going to make u dislike it more. If you stop 'petitioning' it wont be such a bad thing.

Except not all elves are starving. Anyway my point was that they didn't look different from humans aside from the above.

They are.
I've worded this badly. I hope they either return to the Origins design or if they want to make the elves and other races ‘distinct' take inspiration from Skyrim.

The original design looks better across the board, but the redesign wasn't bad. Some of the characters looked like donkeys, so maybe the new graphics can tweak the elf look enough to fix the issue.

As far as anorexic looking, why would anyone want that changed? Elves have always a been slight, highly dexterous race, if I am not mistaken.

I'd rather petition for the option to play as an Elf.

True, but it helps illustrate that they're an oppressed race. They won't go back to DAO style because just as many people hated that style as DA2's. As for basing them off of Skyrim's elves, my answer is no.

This. I miss being an elf. If I want to play as a human, i'll put in ME.
