Pretty much what the title says.
Any openended side stories (or characters) from either Origins or DA2, or side quests with loose ends that haven't been snipped yet, are completely open to speculation. I don't expect many facts (unless someone from Bioware makes a few comments....HINT HINT:happy:,) but let's just have some fun with it.
I know the Eluvians are still an open debate. We don't know where Morrigan (and my Warden) disappeared to when they went through it. And the eluvians do make for a lively debate, as is often the case whenever Merrill is discussed. But I would like to see a fully activated one, where it leads, and if it leads to things worse than demons or not as it goes beyond the Fade.
The Dark Ritual Baby is a must, of course. I want to know how much my decision messed up Thedas, or helped, depending on whether Morrigan fell in love with the Warden or just used them (Alistair) or not.
The Qunari invasion has constantly been alluded to. That may be its own game in the future, but more information would be appreciative.
I personally would love to see more of Connor if he lives or dies, after the events of Redcliff.
If anyone else has any others, please feel free to bring them up so we can make up some crap about it.
Potential side story arcs closing in Inquistion

The Dalish boon. The ruler hands the Hinterlands over (to Marethari in the US ending) and King Alistair in Dragon Age II seems to contradict the Origins' Epilogue.
The Magi boon. In Origins, Greagoir capitulated to the ruler in the US ending, Cullen lost his mind over it, and the independent Circle of Orzammar was never formed as a consequence. That was changed to the boon never happening, so what's the consequence of the boon? What are the ramifications of a mage (and national hero) asking for his people to be freed from the Chantry and the templars? What is the response to a mage becoming the new Arl of Amaranthine?
Queen Anora ruling with King Alistair. She has ambitions for a university and restoring the royal coffers, while he gives rights and representation to the elves. What happens with them? Is their a child? Is Anora ruling while Alistair has adventures and ignores his duty as King?
Who becomes the new Arl of Denerim if Vaughan is killed?
Does anyone find the Urn if you ignored Genitivi, since the flag for Genitivi discovering it isn't activated? What happened to the people of Haven?

You did not mention the party of three Dragonflight with all their cryptic messages.
Would like to know if they were working on their own accord or that they did their research for someone or an organisation and what excactly they were looking for/trying to find out.

I would like a conclusion to the Tome of Koslun. The writers may have not meant this to be a story arc, but I just find it extremely odd that the Qunari, during the first Exalted March, would be crushing the Chantry/Orlesian forces with little opposition and suddenly stop when one book was stolen. The Qunari do not seem like the type to be sentimental over a book, especially a book that is reproduceable. It would only be the knowledge inside they would truly value, not the original tome itself.
Even if a high sentimental value is placed on it by the Qunari, it still makes little sense why they would not just continue their domination of the Orlesians and just steal it back. Much like they did with Kirkwall, taking over the city to find the Tome (among other things).
My thoughts immediately went to the possibility that the Tome of Koslun has some inherent knowledge or secret that lead to the Qunari's dominance on the battlefield (aside from giant warriors with cannons, I suppose) that the Chantry, even after a few centuries, was not able to unlock. Hence the Orlesians compliance with returning the Tome.
But, then again, maybe I am just reading into things way too much and the Tome was just a simple McGuffin that has no real purpose other than being something the Qunari wanted.
Which, in that case, I would simply say the Nexus Golem/the Sandal Prophecy. Those two things look to be nothing more than simple red herrings/throw away teasers to mean nothing, but if they actually have a purpose/reason/story behind them, I'd love to see how it plays into the story at large.

Sandal and what his importance is.
God-child story.
Warden's and Hawke's companions.

Just for the record, they did not say that the Dragon Age series would be a trilogy. They've even hinted at potentially more than just DA:I possibly.

You're right. I didn't. Completely slipped my mind. That's why the community is better than the individual in this case. Many of you can remember things, or played a slightly different way than I, so you would have perspective that I lack. (Example, I never romanced Zevran or Alistair. I play straight men because that's what I am.)

Yup, think that a lot of ppl have things that keep puzzling them because there are many loose ends in DA2. And they would love to see them solved in DA3.
