N7 500? What are you, ****ing stupid? N7 20 is the minimum. I've seen an N7 20 rock a UR and topscore a match on Gold. My freakin winning streak got ruined by that guy. I think all he plays is soldier >.>

Edit: Spaces for clarity

The OP mentioned that anomalies are not that important or some such. The problem with that logic is that exceptions to the "rules" are what make the rules obsolete to begin with. So you're having a hard time finding a good group. Oh well. So do I. I rely on myself more than the team when I'm playing with randoms and it does wonders for me. You should try it.

I say a class level minimum, rather than an n7 minimum. Can't count how many n7 1-10s I've seen trying to host platinum.

I'd say the player base is good at moderating this on its own. A low class level usually means instant kick on anything below gold.

It wastes time though. On bad days it can take me 5 min. to get into a lobby, only to see a lv1 host. would be different if migration didn't take so long as well.

WRONG. Here's what I think the requirements should be:

To play Bronze, you require: N7 50 or higher.
To play Silver, you require: N7 6000 or higher.
To play Gold, you require: N7 80,000 or higher.
To play Platinum, you require: N7 1,257,000 or higher.

Meaning that some players would never get the chance to try it out!

There are two solutions to your problem.

1. Make some friends, and play with them.
2. If you no longer enjoy the game....move on.

I will play at any level I feel like, and I'm not having you or anyone else telling me what I can and can't do.

Actually, we can tell you what you can't do. it's called the kick button.

I finished 3rd in a recent Gold match, and didn't need reviving once.
My N7 is around 180.

If your plan was in effect I think many players would have left ME a long time ago after realising that they would never even reach Silver!

I propose a new button to go along with the "kick" button, called the "up yours" button.

Dedicated to players who are kicked without even getting a chance to prove themselves.

Yep, even the score doesn't mean anything. Just the performance during game.

I am getting burnt out and frustrated from playing with under-skilled and under-equiped players, particularly new-comers, on platinum difficulty.  I waste hard to get equipment and precious free time while they mooch off me and other adept players.  A successful platinum mission requires four skilled and well equiped players, or three skilled players and one new-comer willing to take direction and advice... most aren't.  I can only kick so many of them!

I propose limiting platinum difficulty missions to those who have an N7 rank of 500 or higher, or to those who are invited to join a game.  If you have an N7 rank of 499 or less you cannot create a platinum match nor join one through quick match.  They need to learn how to play the game, level up and unlock equipment on easier levels before they can play the highest difficulty.  This will prevent the more skilled players from becoming frustrated with them, and prevent new-comers from thinking ME3 multiplayer is full of jerks.  This will also reduce cheating via the missle glitch, as it is usually new-comers that do it to exploit the high credit payouts and experience from platinum missions.  Lastly, having the highest difficulty being something that has to be unlocked will add an inviting challenge to the game and likely increase the number of players... but probably not at first.

Thanks for you time, BioWare staff!

True story: YOU are the problem, not them.  If you don't have a full party of competent players, why are you attempting to do a Platinum run and waste equipment?  Play a couple games of Gold to figure out if the Randoms are good teammates and THEN do a Platinum run with them.

Platinum PUGs is like getting drunk at a party and making out with the girl that has a big red spot on her lip.  You know deep down that it's herpes, but you think you just might be safe this one time.

If you come into a platinum lobby with a level 9 novaguard with a claymoreI and widowI with no equipment, the only prooving you'll be doing is your incompetency level and your poor judgement/lack of common sense.

Hey I'm British, we invented Sarcasm.  If that was sarcasm then I retract all my comments. But I think there are a lot of players who actually think this sort of cap is a good idea.  And I'm afraid anyone who starts talking about kicking pushes my buttons straight away :bandit:

That is disgusting, BuckshotSamurai. It is true, but now I'm going to think about it every time I try to play a Platinum match, and I will wince because of you.

While I sympathize about newbies/lowbies wanting to take shortcuts to fast track through the tedious RNG shop, I also sympathize with the more experienced players who have to carry them. I also have sympathy for the people with low N7 but decent skill who will inevitably be discriminated against: I'm sure I've been kicked a few times on both PC and 360 for not having a sufficiently high N7 and not having a decently levelled-up rare or ultra-rare equipped. But I don't claim to be that good.

However, even with my admittedly mediocre skills, I rarely have trouble extracting (often fully) on Platinum (FBW, natch ;P) with my Sal Eng and my Acolyte III, and I'm usually 2nd or 3rd on the scoreboard, and occasionally even at top (although that doesn't usually bode well for our chances of extraction), and my N7 rating on the 360 is pretty low (N7184).

There must be a better metric for skill and success than the N7 rating: maybe have a record of the player's last 5-10 games with their scores relative to the rest of the team? If someone is clearly leeching and doing absolutely no work, it will show on the scoreboard more often than not, as there will be a sizeable difference between their score and the next lowest score. Obviously score isn't everything: there are some characters which are better at getting a lot of kills than others, yet if the lowest scoring person is still going out there and providing cover for objectives, being a distraction, or whatever role they played in successful extraction, then that should also be taken into account. Maybe it should also show the medals that the person has gotten in the last 5-10 games as well.

I usually give everyone a chance unless they're using an Avenger I and/or Mantis I on Platinum, because it seems doubtful they'll be able to do enough damage fast enough before enemy shields regen. I'm not saying it's impossible, but it's highly improbable.
