1. There is always an option to leave the lobby if you feel uncomfortable with the current teammates.
2. There is also an option to kick the one you don't want to play, and if the others agreeing with you they will support and eliminate the poor guy.
3. There is an option to start a private match and play with friends you choose.
Besides all of that I find entertaining to play with low N7, newbie or unskilled players. It is another way to rise the challenging level of the game. We all know how different could be a platinum level (or other levels) from each other depending simply the players itselfs. Also I like to help others. Not every time of course. But If I have a mood for some quality games I have the options above. Best is the 3th one.

Of course the down side is that they might not have played as all or even many of the classes and just spent creds and got character cards. Can't get it perfect. But at least they'd have guaranteed level 20 characters so they wouldn't be TOTALLY defenseless.

I'd say at least 120. That way all of that person's classes are fully powered and they've probably spent some time playing as each class and learning the pros and cons so they may be able to utilize them more effectively.

OP, I hope one day you end up with that one player like I did. Rating of more than 6000 who kept dying dying dying because they were so lousy (I kid you not). The player ran out of medigel at round 3 on SILVER. I was wtf...

No, N7 means about as much as the color of your character lights.
I would like a better color picker for the lights, I don't find the limited choices for lights to fit with my asthetic. That said... N7 means less than the color of your lights...

Let me put it this way 120 is max N7 without any promotions so someone who played till they maxed there characters and just played all level 20 correctors is as good if not better than those who promote every chance they get.

Pretty much this. I have also played with high level N7's and they were really bad, but not all are bad.CROAT_56 wrote...
your N7 rating has nothing to do with how good you are. I've seen 3000s that are as bad as 30s in bronze and sub 100s that are good in gold. There is no basis to institute a N7 requirement into plat matches.

Instead of requiring a certain N7 rank, maybe Platinum should require a certain number of successful gold matches, certain amount of hours played, etc. Something along those lines.

At the end of the day, since everyone has different preferences about promoting; it's kind of a no-win situation. The most you can really do is judge people on their loadout (and I'm not saying that even determines whether or not a player is good or bad).
I stay out of Platinum period. The majority of people I've had the misfortune of playing with on there are missile glitchers, which obviously means they don't have the skills to be there in the first place. So, in that respect, people who are there and maybe wipe in an early wave deserve credit for playing the game earnestly and giving it a good go.

ive seen a N7 of 80+ who actually knows how to play in platinum far better than baddie scrubs with stat padded N7

A lot does actually hinge on what character you play during a match. For instance, destroyers, furies, krentinels and lift grenade-spamming asari vanguards are scoreboard leaders than, say, a shadow or a human sentinel (in certain sitauations - I'm only making an example).
It also depends on what enemy faction you're playing against. Tech powers are generally more effective against geth, just as biotics are most effective against Reapers. Conversely, biotics could have a harder time against geth, likewise tech classes against Reapers.
A good player, regardless of N7 rank, is someone who show versatility and adapt to any given situation while playing to their strengths and overcoming their weaknesses.
An N7 80 something outscoring an N7 3000 something is really a moot point to me. Doesn't mean anything.

I think the OP has a point. Platinum is the hardest difficulty and there are three easier levels for a reason! There are always the few exceptions, but most people will not succeed without at least having some decent weapons, putting on good equipment and bringing a certain amount of experience with them.
The few cases I am choosing "Platinum Quick Match", because none of my Gaming Buddies are online, I've ended up way too often in lobbies full of low ranked N7s (<500) with weird or no equipment at all. I've even heard comments like "Yeah, we rock on Platinum. We make it to Wave 3 most of the times". Seriously?
Sorry, but people who don't even know that two players deactivating a device at the same time does NOT speed up the deactivation process shouldn't be playing Platinum. Period!
A minimum N7 Rank of 500 would definitely have my support and benefite both parties as outlined by the OP. Those players can still play Gold and still be overwhelmed (and maybe be happy, that they made it to Wave 6 most of the times).
I am not saying this, because my Rank is >500. I intentionally didn't even start playing Gold before I was in that range BTW. Because I wanted to be solid in Silver first and make sure I can carry my weight and have decent equipment before entering Random Gold lobbies.
Yes, there are always exceptions and there are people with a N7 Rank of 150 who might rock Platinum. But I've never seen any of them. Any decent players I have seen so far had a higher level. And those few shouldn't have a problem to Level up beyond 500 within less than two weeks, since any promotion round of all your 6 characters immediately gives you 180 rank points.
The discusion if N7 Rank is a good indicator or not is pointless beyond that. As I said, there are always exceptions and examples for both. But one thing can't be discarded: Someone with a Rank >500 has at least played a certain amount of games and thus gained a certain amount of experience and equipment. So he still might suck because of bad skill, but at least he knows that you stay with the Drone to make it move faster and that a Javelin and a Typhoon might not be the optimal loadout for an Adept.
I think it is annoying to have to leave so many lobbies because they are full of unexperienced players or in my own lobbies tell players entering with a Rank 10 that they most likely just made a mistake and didn't really want to play Platinum over and over again. I don't have a problem carrying people through Silver or Gold and answer all their questions during the game. But on Platinum people can actually cause a lot of problems by blocking spawns in the right locations or making an objective harder than it has to be just by being in the wrong place all the time.
Sorry Tronar, misinterpreted your post. Thanks for clearing that up in another thread.

...That's how I'm reading a lot of these posts. Of course, most go on to state that N7 means nothing, which is true, but only after N7 120. Before that, assume noob status, and you'll most likely be spot on the money.
