Biggest problem is the fact that they give women those riddicilous cleavage-openings in the plate armor. I just think they are silly.
Go google Meredith. No cleavage.
Aveline. No cleavage.
Isabella does show cleavage, but also note she isnt in armor. At best she's wearing leather.
Hawke: Most plate armors dont have cleavage showing.
So all in all I have no idea what your talking about.

I agree that it is absurd when that is done (also the sculpted breastplate thing), but so far Dragon Age has been pretty good about that sort of thing with heavy armour. Medium armour, on the other hand, could use some work in that respect.

You sure you're not confusing the women in plate mail in DA/DA2 with Aribeth from Neverwinter Nights?

You know the best thing about that picture? A while back I believe Kotaku had a bit from an actual armorer in real life who takes commissions from people wanting armor based off of movies, games, and the like. When asked about the functionality of female armor with those metal domed breasts on the breastplate he said he doesn't make them.
He won't do them because of safety concerns. He believes that if the person wearing the armor somehow fell on their chest the metal breasts would break their sternum. This says nothing at all for actual combat against blunted weapons or falling off of a horse.
So the best thing about this picture to me is the fact that heavy plate armor in Origins looks functional regardless of the gender wearing it. It's little things that make you happy.

Exposure of cleavage, no matter what degree, is not indicative of promiscuous behavior.Ivandra Ceruden wrote...
@ghostmessiah202: It's only logical Isabela shows cleavage given her sl*tty nature. >_>

I'm responding to the negativity of the last few days to say that I fully approve of females in plate armor. Females should be allowed to be warriors. Period.

Meredith approves...

They actually got the armour right in this movie.

what's wrong with
promiscuous behavior anyway. ahh, right, she's not male enough to do that

Now, to my point. I've always felt that the DA-games did plate armour for females pretty well, compared to other games. The leather armours left women exposing alot of skin alot of the time however, seemingly for no other reason than to show skin.
And women can certainly wear plate armour in real life. A well crafted complete suit of plate armour weighs about 20-25kg and is evenly distributed over your body.
I would really welcome more realism when it comes to armour in the DA-games, and variety for that matter, some armours in Origins really looked kind of... implausible.

Can we avoid making sexual attraction the main focus when talking about this?
