I would like to say big NO to actually anything that comes from Orlais - language (accent I mean), land, characters, quests, etc. Dragon Age franchaise has so rich and beautifull world, it doesn't need this irritating, pretentious fragment of the lore.
I respect that someone wants to dig in in this France-styled part of the lore, but I personally think it sucks. You can easily do showy accent in English, without running to France, which doesn't complement the world of DA AT ALL. It doesn't stick, it doesn't mash, is a puzzle that doesn't really give justice to the rest of the beautifly crafted lore.
So no, I don't wannna Orlais in any form in DA III and in future games in DA world, hope some people agree with me. Orlais is boring and it's like chalk and cheese!
My personal reaction to this?

Personally i find the ridiculously over the top english accents in dragon age origins and dragon age two to be much more offensive to the ears.
... I didn't notice any over the top accents in Dragon Age, which I probably should have noticed if there were any being English 'n' all. :-S

Dear BioWare: I don't know what Orlais looks like, or how you'll use it, but there are French people there and they're stinky. I've decided I want something else, which in my mind will look way better.
I've heard enough from Loghaine to know that Orlais is in-fact stinky. He told me so, and there's no greater authority on Orlais.

I'm looking forward to what your scene designers are going to come up with. Make something that makes us want to pan the camera up! I often have to remind myself to pan the camera up in games, since you really get a feel for three-dimensional space.David Gaider wrote...

How else are they going to continue the story of Bodahn and Sandal if DA3 doesn't take place in Orlais? Dragon Age is their story afterall and not the Warden's or the Champion's.

I say yes to Tevinter, Rivain and Antiva. Orlais, not so much.
Im with you on this. I dont really have anything against Orlais. Just out of all the places that have been described to us, I find Orlais the least interesting.

Well, I did find that scene where Hawke meets Merrill to be a bit silly.
Merrill: You must be the ones the Keeper told me about. Aneth ara.
Hawke: Hullo, hullo, hullo! What's all this then? Seems like a little boird with a knoife. And what a fine boird she is, too! Fancy a cuppa, mum? It'll put you to rights, it will! Jolly good and all that rot! Bangers and mash! Lashings of ginger beer for everyone!
Merrill: ....
Hawke: I'm British, you know!

I do not understand why some do not want a DA3 in Orlais. Its all because English is not enough. I am French and I am happy to see that even through a video game you can see different cultures including French and Spanish. I do not want to offend anyone but some English and American are stupid to think they are the center of the world!!
Nah, they just think that French accents are silly. Oh, well
Honestly, I am sort of afraid of the "over-the top-ish" rendition, with all of the R's flying around. More Leliana, less Isolde, please.

I've wanted to see Orlais for a long time, no place I'd rather play. BioWare's got Quebec right next door (relatively), so there's a great pool of French-Canadian acting talent, and they've got the budget to go hire a couple of great French actors for the player character roles if they need to. (I always think Eva Green or the Milennium actor (French animated film, great sci-fi noir, think that was the name), Actors of that voice quality would be perfect for the roles.
Haven't any of you people worried about accents ever seen any French films? "Amelie"? "Micmacs"? "The Dreamers"? etc.? And for the setting, "Marie Antoinette", the one with Kirsten Dunst? Anything? Just to name some you should be able to find for rent or stream..
And the setting.. We need more color! Seriously. We just spent a game in a static white marble cage with a beach (felt like). And they've got the new engine, and hasn't anybody played Assassin's Creed 2? (italian renaissance, yes, but similar aesthetic) And you've got the perfect recipe, any time at all really, for a great game, and then it's the center of Southern Thedas during a major half continent wide uprising. And Leliana and her voice will be there. Wow..
What's not to love?
Je dis oui a la Orlais.
excuse moi. My French is very, very rusty foggy nowdays. lookin' forward to the primer
