When I was editing a copy of the CEP placeables.2da to add some additional placeables for my module, I noticed that there are several thousand lines at the end that just read "tile_reserved".

What exatcly are these lines for? I understand reserved lines in 2da files, but "tile_reserved" just sounds odd.

Can I safely just delete them from my own version to reduce the file size?

Hello.

It could be about tile magic. Tile magic is about spawning, over a given tile, a placeable which mimics the appearance of another tile. And so you have the illusion that the Area has changed appearance (or the tileset altogether). The HoTU campaign does this, remember?

As for deleting (and reusing) those 2da lines, which are empty as far as you are concerned, there should be no trouble until you decide to upgrade to a newer (future) CEP that will make actual use of them.

I'm not sure exactly what those lines were intended for, but you can safely get rid of them to reduce the file size (it's what I do).

Tile magic uses visual effects, rather than placeables.

My apologies to Snowbug.
I gave incorrect informations. Was unintentional.
