Borderlands 2 has beaten Mass Effect 3 and claimed the title of best-selling debut launch of 2012 for the U.K. According to Chart-track, Gearbox’s and 2k Games’ Borderlands sequel has sold over 4,000 more copies than Bioware’s and EA’s Mass Effect 3 did during its spring release.

But who would have thought Borderlands 2 would beat ME3! i Know Borderlands 2 has my vote for game of the year but the question is how many more of you fellow ME3 fans have played borderlands 2 and are going to vote in its favor?

Borderlands 2 is the only game in a while that's lived up to the hype for me. I definitely prefer it to ME3.

Wait, a game built around multiplayer sold more than a game built around single player?

Same with me. The DLC for Borderlands was good so it'll be worth it.

I wouldn't say Mass Effect 3 was built around single player.

Because multiplayer influences what content you can see.

BL2 will easily beat ME3 in terms of sales number given that ME series was not really popular on PS3.

Which shows the audience for Mass Effect.

The single player audience.

The ones interested in playing the game.

Then why is multiplayer there, if it's for a single player audience and why did it affect aspects of the singleplayer?

It's really just EA's mindset right now. They had to involve some sort of MP aspect to the game. Tell me, out of all the advertisements you saw for Mass Effect 3, how many revolved around or even mentioned multiplayer? Was the pre-release hype centered around having an amazing plot, or the addicting and fun multiplayer? When talking to people about Mass Effect 3 before it was released, what were they excited about? The multi player is a random, obligitory horde tack-on. Saying it's the focus of this game is like saying the focus of Saints Row:The Third is centered around it's ****d Mode. It's not, it's just a feature of the game.

My friend has been enjoying BL2 in singleplayer mode (or by himself in multiplayer); I don't know how the game handles that. It's quite difficult at times but he manages.

Also from what I've seen, there no NPC in BL2 to walk up to you and claim everything that came before was a lie.

Good to see the superior RPG with better choice and consequence and an antagonist far superior to the pathetic TIM/Cerberus and Reapers sell more.
