In your "optimum" order of quests, do you do the Haven/Ruined temple after Redcliffe or just before the end?

Also, does entering an are freeze enemies for justvthat area, or all sub areas? I.e. will entering the Dalsih camp freeze levels for both East/west brecilian and the underground ruins?

It's more optimal saving Haven for last (High Dragon can scale up to Level 20), but if you want to keep Wynne, you have to do it before the Mage Tower.

I'm pretty sure that the level freeze applies to the area and its associated buildings (like Denerim Market District and its buildings). A general rule is: If you can travel to that area using the world map or a city map, then it's considered a different area. Thus, you can still enter the Dalish camp to stock up on elfroot for health poultices without freezing the level of the Brecilian Forest.

Don't know if anyone mentioned it but:

It helps with those friendly NPC's stealing the hard earned XP.

That's a very useful mod. Not only does it prevent friendly NPCs from stealing XP, but it also gives the main character the full XP bonus for every kill without having to land the killing blow on every single enemy.

I'd be wary, though. The last version broke one of the scripted events in the Anvil of the Void quest.

Advanced Tactics 2.9 now also supports NPC kill XP so that would replace the above...and AT is IMHO the best mod next to the Respec Raven...

Does it compensate for the 5% XP penalty that is incurred when another party member gets the killing blow, though? I think the 'No Kill Steal' mod you posted would be superior, in this case.

Anyway, once Return to Ostagar is released (whenever that is - I was hoping before Mass Effect 2), hopefully it shouldn't be a problem getting to Level 25 legitimately and without killing friendly NPCs - although I still believe it's possible right now with perfectionist gameplay and using this guide.

Hey Ecael I've been trying to get the encounter with Templars to trigger but I can't seem to get it to work. I've failed stealing from Greagoir and the two Templar gards at the Denerim Chantry, is that enough?

Another question I have is about double crossing both candidates for Paragon of her kind. You say you can get fanatics of both sides to spawn but this has never worked for me. What I do is talk to Vartag, then Dulin, do the Vartag quests untill Lord Dace, then head back and do the Proving fights. When trying to exit the proving Vartag will spawn at the exit and I persuade him to become a spy, then I go to Harrowmont to pick up the Jarvia quest, talk to Vartag to pick up the planted evidence, clear the Carta base and head back to Vartag. During all this I run into two Bhelen fanatic groups I can't avoid fighting. Is this the correct order?

I also have some stuff to add to your guide:

A Paragon of her kind:
After killing Jarvia 3 thugs will spawn in Dirt Town, talk to them to engage in combat.
In Ortan Thaig step into as many spider webs as possible, I've so far found two that spawn more spiders ~8 total. Both of these webs are in the large cave with the bridges that also has the Othan records and Asunder altar.

Fights with bosses:
It is usally best to kill all lackeys first and the boss last because in some fights the lackeys will dissappear after you defeat the boss. (For instance in the fight against Zevran and Liliana's worldmap encounter with the assasins after her.)

Maximizing (non-pc) Rogue XP:
You can disram enemy glyps for xp. (Such as the glyphs in the Carta base and in the Hallway with 2x2 golems in the Anvil of the Void map.)
In some worldmap encounters you can't disarm the traps any longer after the enemies have been killed so disarm the traps during the fight. (One example of this is the fight where you get Zevran.)
Do not pick up keys unless you have to, instead use your rogue to pick the lock for xp.
The vault on the upper floor of Redcliffe castle can be picked for 50xp after you cure Arl Eamon, it will be relocked even if you opened it before.

Escape from Fort Drakon:
I assume the PC character does not get to share xp that the companions that free him/her get. Is this correct?
If so the best way to do Fort Drakon is to talk your way in at the first door. (so the PC can kill the captain and guards on the way out.) Then kill everyone in the room with the Ballistea and in the room after that. (Otherwise the doors won't open.) Then immediately turn right and run past the Mabari's (or use sleep, even better) and finally kill both guards next to the pc's cell without picking up the key and then picking both locks on the cells for 120 xp.
After that clear the whole Fort and pick all locked stuff.

Updated for Return to Ostagar.

Return to Ostagar = 3530 XP. Shouldn't be a problem getting Level 25 legitimately now.

Here's an interesting trick I found to AoE friendly fighters. You can reverse tank an enemy by placing forcefield on them. The little blue goons will all clump around the enemy, and then you can drop AoE damage spells to your heart's content. I used this trick to kill all the soldier's in Redcliffe in the village center and just kept on alternating inferno and death cloud.

Good to know. Although with Return to Ostagar, you can probably get Level 25 without even killing any friendly NPCs, as long as you get the majority of killing blows (for the +5% XP bonus).

Back to Mass Effect 2...
