And a lot of people want to see their Warden again, but Bioware says we won't be using our Warden as a PC again and that he or she won't be a companion(which is a decision I support). So that leaves us with a cameo. So I got to thinking, why not a personal quest for our Grey Warden companion to help a fellow Warden that turns out to be THE Warden?
Our companion,(who'll we'll call Wardy), Wardy, has recieved word that a friend and fellow Warden must embark on his/her calling and wants to use a specific entrance to the Deep Roads. This entrance is said to lead directly to a breeding center, where possibly thousands of Darkspawn are spat into Thedas every fortnight. This Warden aims to kill as many Broodmothers as is humanly(or elfly or dwarfly) possible. But the entrance is sealed and can only be opened by two senior Wardens. So you must travel to the mountains(or wherever) where the entrance is located, which are filled with Darkspawn, to meet this Warden and open the mystical door for him/her to embark on his/her Calling. After battling through nearly a horde of Darkspawn, you arrive and find a Warden standing in front of the massive, foreboding entrance to hell on Thedas. Wardy says he'll approach the Warden alone. From a short distance you see Wardy and the Warden talking for a short while, them embrace in a short hug before each stands on either side of the door and place their bare hands on blank panels. After a moment a rumble is heard and the door begins to open, slowly. Wardy hands the Warden a pack of supplies and nods before walking back to your group. As Wardy is walking toward you, you catch a glimpse of the Warden's bright, glowing blue eyes. Then the Warden puts the pack over his/her shoulder and walks into the newly-opened chasm, weapon/s in hand.
The massive door shuts behind him with a clap of thunder.
"Wardy, we're not going with him/her? I thought you said s/he was meant to slay thousands of Darkspawn?"
"Aye. His/Her last task."
"What? S/He's throwing his/her life away in that pit?"
"No. S/He's living all of his/her life down in that pit. It's a Warden's duty to fulfill the Calling, the irrisistable pull to the Deep Roads to kill as much evil as is possible before the taint takes us."
"So what if s/he can't kill any Broodmothers?"
"Then it will be an unceremonious end to an extraordinary life."
"What do you mean? Who was he/she?"
"That was the Warden that saved Ferelden. The Warden that slayed an Archdemon and lived."
"The Hero of Ferelden?"
"The Hero of Thedas."
And obviously our Warden would be fully armored/clothed with his/her face covered.

I personally don't want to see the Warden again. No matter what BioWare do, they will, somehow, break the way I made my character. In my opinion, we should just let the Warden rest.

Dunno dude but there are 6 origins, 2 possibile sex appearances and 3 races for Warden, also lot of loops in each warden´s story so they would need to hire lot of voice-actors and scripts for using the full potential, I think that more realistic will be just some random dude grey warden than the Hero of Ferelden.
OP: Yeah otherwise that´s probably the only option for warden ...
Especially since many (including my own) import Wardens are dead.

OK, so we're probably getting a Grey Warden companion in DA3. Bioware used a Grey Warden(and Cassandra) to show off the new companion armor system of DA3 months back.

I think it`s a brilliant idea! The warden needs some kind of closure. Witch hunt, that was supposed to be the end of origins/the warden`s story, gave more questions than answers!

1. We don't actually hear Warden since s/he is standing far away and has a chat with Wardy.
2. If s/he wears an armor set so maybe we won't see the face (race/eye color import is not that hard).
3. If Warden is dead -> no quest.
4. (Extra) At times of Blights Warden's time before Calling is lessened.
As for idea... the "2 senior wardens"... the whole reason for our PC to escort Wardy there and "why should our Warden wait for him X amount of time constantly battling darkspawn?". Many loose end, yet for this amount of text idea is good.
I would just make this quest optional (the way you put it, if Wardy doesn't come our Warden will wait there for a long time). Wardy temporary leaves the "camp" because he has "warden related business" and you can choose to follow him or maybe even spy on him... This way people who might not like this quest can just skip it (it never happened) or have some reasonable (money / VA / time wise) cameo.
Breeding center...

An interesting idea, but... I'm not sure everyone would like their Warden's story to end like that. Remember they said they'd consult pretty widely before having previous characters show up again, even as cameos.
Besides, as someone else said above, they clearly have a plot in mind for the Warden and Hawke - they've vanished at the end of DA2.

Something big is definitely going on but not yet been revealed in the DA universe and it could well be that this issue got the Warden's attention and Hawke's as well. They maybe on recruitment mode right now and are looking at the Inquisitor's exploits intently.

The level of closure some people desire is best done through fan-fiction. It's not really achievable in the game.
Yep yep, because not everyone wants the same ending. Write it out. Headcanon it out.

Exactly. I left it intentionally vague and took care not to lend a voice or discernable details to the warden. The glowing blue eyes idea is from the Calling cinematic Blur did for Origins.

There was a poo storm over Leliana because she appeared in DA2 whether she still had a head on her neck after Origins or not.

No. There are Warden's for whom this course of action would be OOC. Mine, if he couldn't find a way to extend his life with Avernus' help, would be far more likely to go and die fighting for mage freedom/Ferelden/something else he believes in than to go on his Calling. Hell, I'd say he might be more likely to fall on his own sword so Anora can claim his ashes unless she orders him to do otherwise.
The calling is not optional. The Wardens feel a pull to the Deep Roads and can't get the voices calling them there out of their heads. If they don't die in the Deep Roads then the taint overwhlems them and they become Darkspawn.

Besides, IIRC Commander Asturian actually had to be sent on his Calling by the other Warden's when the taint started to drive him mad.
