It's a 15% buff. It's not overly huge, but I think it may be enough to make some difference. Plus, extended barrel, amps, gears, powers, etc, will be based off the new figure.

Therefore, EB+Buff is not a 40% damage increase on the unmodded weapon from last week, it's actually ~43%, and so on and so forth.

So, I mean, it's not a horrific figure, especially coupled with the encumbrance decrease.

Good work Eric and Co. Nice set of changes this week.

Good to see some of the pistols now weigh less, it was amusing having a pistol that weighed more than some shotguns. Also the increase to the Strikers ammo may warrant some use, and most importantly, that Eagle buff has put it in a nice cozy spot. Cheers for all the work.

Hard to believe the Piranha design makes even less sense than it did originally.
Carnifex is now pointless.
Disciple still sucks.

Well I did figure, it meant from level 1 at one end to level 10 at the other, but the order and way it was stated can be confusing.  As I mistook it, you can read the 1.0 - 0.5 as dropping from 1 at the lowest level to 0.5 or it it can be read as , 1.0 at level 1 - 0.5 at level 10.

Weapon is still likely a bit underpowered, especially for the weight.  The nerf for this weapon hit HARD, and I'd suggest that the "ramp-up multiplier" be increased slightly.

Like the Typhoon, I doubt this is going to really make the Striker a great weapon.  This patch alongside a recoil reduction or large damage increase would make it usable.

This weapon should be plenty useful now.  Or not.  The damage buff is pretty high, though.

This weapon was already phenomenal (apparently, I don't happen to have one), especially at higher levels.  Now it should be great right out of the box.

Not sure why this weapon got a buff, but it isn't unreasonable or anything.  Even more reason to use it!

Not sure why this was done.  Paladin > Carnifex now, rather than the two being on relatively even ground.  There's no denying that the Carnifex is (was?) a good weapon, but that was mainly due to it's low weight.  Without that, the only reasons to pick this over the Paladin are: Carnifex is a significantly higher level, and if you want a big clip.  The higher level argument shouldn't really be considered for weapon balance in most cases, and the big clip is irrelevant, IMO.

Apparently the weapon model indicates that the clip size should be 8, but whatever.  This nerf should put the Piranha in line with the rest of the weapons in the game.  Well, sort of.  It isn't "the best" any more, I imagine.

Yay damage increase!  For the changes to the Rank 4 Bleed Evo, it's a mixed bag.  On one hand, you're doing damage quicker, which is nice.  On the flip side, you can't use Frags any more for delaying shield recharge, which was a pretty handy application of the evo at times.

Lift Grenades will never be truly great until they fix the bugs associated with them, but these balance changes certainly help.

The increase to max grenades should be helpful, certainly.  Still not an excellent power though, I imagine.

The best gets better.  Not sure why these were buffed, aside from keeping them in line with the other grenade types.  At any rate, not a huge problem that these were buffed.

I've forgotten whether or not the Rank 5 Evo gave you +1 or +2 grenades, but I'm going to assume it was +2, otherwise it would be rather silly for the grenade capacity increases given to many other grenade types this week, not to have been given to the Infernos.  Back OT, no complaints with these changes, except for that Inferno Grenades are still likely not as strong as many of the other choices.

Overall, pretty good job with the balance changes this week.  Not too many complaints, except for what was done to the Carnifex, which I believe should have retained it's weight.  A clip size decrease to 5 would've been better alongside a lesser weight nerf, maybe.

I really think this was a nice update all around. And adding the BF3 Soldier as a rare card is just a very nice bonus to those who don't already have him (like me!).

Even the nerfs weren't anything to complain about in my opinion. Having this being discussed with the community beforehand was pretty great to see as well.

And adding a lighter starting wieght to both the talon and the paladin helped make the carnifex weight increase that much easier to swallow. That honestly was a good tactic.

I'm sorry, but adding the BF3 soldier to the rare pool is a terrible idea. It's ugly as sin, and really adds nothing to the class pool. Just more junk rares to sort through...

Oh and the Inferno Grenade buff makes zero sense.  Inferno Grenade was already arguably the best grenade power in the game.

Piranha is still one of the top guns in the game, period.

It's only one gold card though since it doesn't have any colors to unlock, so it's a case of get it once and forget about it.

There is the thing that it will still drop, but be swapped for a level IV card though... although I wouldn't complain about that myself.

Just tested, now my Eagle III is a nice weapon to use with my Human Adept.

Also the stick grenades in my Quarian Female Infiltrator now do more than 2500 damage, i can kill a brute/ravager in a gold match using only two grenades.:o

really from the SP description the paladin is supposed to be a light, hard hitting, concealable pistol.... for cops to use in a pinch. So it makes sense kinda to make it lighter than the carnifex. harder hit, easier to carry -- but less ammo because it's not designed for long heavy engagements.

Totally loving the lighter weight Talon. I think this week's changes were fine. While the Carnifex weight increase is a bit of a bummer, it's not going to take away from being a really good gun for power heavy classes. However, since I have a Talon II, that will probably be my go-to gun for any power-use class now.

So the definately not overpowered carnifex was nerfed and definately overpowered grenades were buffed.  A rather puzzling day.

Yeah, making the carnifex weigh more than the talon will definately make less people use the carnifex.

Lots of gun buffs for shooty classes. No non-grenade power buffs for casters.  :crying:  I think now ME 3 is purely about shooty classes and grenade chunkers. Casters might as well stay on the shuttle or go clean the toilets.

Good job overall. I would throw out that perhaps we should nerf the piranha's reload time and keep the 8 shells since that matches the model in game. The effect would be the same, but it would match more with what it would really be like to reload a 8 shot magazine for a shotgun. It should take about 3X longer to reload, but leave it at 8 shells.
