Poll: How should the elves look in Dragon Age 3?

My favourite elves in DA2 when it comes to looks are Merril, Fenris, Orsino and Tallis, all very unique and creative in how they looked. Then there were the horrors that were DA2-Zevran and Orana and many who ended up somewhere in between.
I don't think that all elves need to be gorgeous, but I would like if there was something special about even the poorest city elfs, something that shines through the mud and the dirt.
The pictures from the DAO-mod on page 2 was very interesting btw and hopefully the elves will look better in the new engine.

In DA2 I think they came out looking really gross. Especially Zev. He was a looker in DA:O but blargh...he looked like a mutated child in DA2.
I understand they want to have more unique traits among the races though, so I think they should combine the two looks, leaning more toward DA:O, and it'll be great!
Either way, I'm very interested in how DA3 is going to play out. I enjoyed both games, the first one more, but I still loved them both.

I don't get why people prefer the old "short humans with pointy ears" look. DA2 made them so much more unique and iconic. I hope (and am pretty confident) they don't revert back.
They were unique, they were also very unattractive.
Which would be totally fine if the lore didn't describe them as a people that humans generally found to be physically attractive.

Meh, after Da2 i would interpret that the people of Thedas have a different standard of who's attractive in contrast to what irl cultures view as beautiful.Han Shot First wrote...

The elves really did look far too human in origins. Half the hairstyles made it impossible to even tell if a character was an elf just looking at their face. It was hard to buy the whole "Extremely prejudiced against" thing when the elves could pass for human if they had long hair and were more similar to other Fereldener's in appearance that people of different nationalities in real life.

Sure some of the elves looked terrible... but so did those weird low-res humans in Kirkwall and all the Qunari had the exact same face.. I mean you can't look at those models and think they're all well done. But the elves that had distinct faces and weren't really low-res'd had a nice look to them.

I'm fine with the way Merrill and Fenris looked, but Tallis, in my opinion was a return to form.

I'm a fan of elves that break the "humans with pointy ears" norm. I thought DA2 did this better, so I'd lean towards the DA2 style.

Call the X-com!!!! Enemy KNOWNNNNNNNNNNNNN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I voted neither, because i want Bioware to come up with something new - i said it before, and i would like if the guy(s) that did Qunari changes did something similar with elves.

Original

With TMP's mod

and a side view with TMP's mod

I think a mix of the two would look very nice, I really love this look for her. Distinct enough to be different and exotic without being completely alien looking.
And I'm probably in a small minority but I thought Marethari was improved by DA2's rendition of her. To me, she was one of the most beautiful NPCs in the game, reminded me somewhat of Savah of the Sun Folk, unlike the haggard looking elf she was in Origins. I liked the dichotomy of that frail form housing incredible power.

And yes I know that Jaheira was Half-Elven. She looks more Elvish than human though.

Alos, the obsession of making elves feel different only because of looks is appaling. Culture and society mean nothing? Only obsession with shallow details?

Why do we care if other media create an image than short with pointy ears? Frankly elves in their "classical" form look short and beared liked dwarves so what we've got is "cannonical" only as far as Tolkein-y elves go.
As for shallow, oh please. The "we wanrt pretty elves that look like the LoTR movies" types aren't looking for depth. They want a sterotype. In fact the biggest problem with the elven protagonists in DAO is that they look humna and for 99% of the time they play exactly like a human.

That's pretty good, actually. Really good. Right on the head? Pretty close.
edit:
People's problem with Tolkien elves amazes me. The elf image we've got in Tolkien is closer to mythological elves than the "short and beardy" Christmas elf thing ever was, anyway (more of a gnome, really..) So more LoTR and less whatever DA2 is is a good thing. Doesn't mean they look human. Does mean they look like something worthy of all the intrigue and awe they're supposed to conjure up. People are supposed to be drawn to them on a number of levels, not repulsed.
