Apparently, Sten is the new Arishok. Any chance he might appear in the new game? I assume the Qunari won't be sitting idle while Thedas engages in a civil war.

In fact, that seems like an excellent time for the Qunari to seize land.

Probably. And I hope we do too.

For when the Qunari invade Thedas once more at the end of DA3, Sten will stand at the front of the lead Dreadnought, still boasting his badass goatee, holding a box of cookies under one arm and a box of kittens under the other.

Then he shall look to the screen and say...

"No".

*cue credits*

But yes, I do think we'll see him again. Either as the Arishok leading a new war effort or he'll be the Hugh of the Qunari.

It really depends on what happens in the next two issues of Those Who Speak.

Speaking of Those Who Speak.... when's the next issue coming out Messere Gaider?

I'm all for having him, as long as I can throw him into my dungeons. (Or failing that, mount his head over the castle-gates)

I really hope we do see him. Hopefully it'll be in the ending cutscene, showing the Qunari preparing to invade Tevinter, meaning we'd get to see Tevinter AT LAST in DA4. And as I'm guessing most of the mage-templar business will be resolved or at least returned to stability by the end of DA3, that could be one of the next major plot threads.

I would feel bad about having to kill Sten. Briefly.

Maybe. I see it as a late game scenario if its included. Remember how the trailers of DA2 featured the Arishok, and the real focus of the story wasn't made clear until the Anders moment? We may be brought into Inquisition with the premise of hunting down a mastermind and instead end up with a surprise invasion. If it doesn't happen in DA3. I see it as very likely in DA4, as this would be an excellent time to strike(once the mages have been largely crippled or wiped out). We all know those Qunari aren't going to give up until they've killed or converted every last person in Thedas.

Wasn't it stated that Qunari do not promote and that Arishoks are chosen at young age? How can Sten be an Arishok now?

Seems possible.

Not sure if my PC will want to have a chat with the guy though. If you don't know him, then he'd just be another damn Qunari, and the old Arishok's actions would count against him

The Qunari do promote within their professions.  They're assigned to broad roles, not a specific rank.

They're chosen for a branch of government, and then rise in ranks within that government starting from the rank of grunt.

Edit: There are however several different branches of grunts. Masons and blacksmiths have different qualifications while still being in the same branch, for example. But you can apparently rise to the top of your branch from any starting position. Have a source.

Sten! I'd love to see him again - would hate having to kill him if it came to that (certainly hope a face-to-face meeting with him would NOT involve direct conflict).

As far as I know ,everyone from the military branch could become Arishok, like any priests could become Ariqun and any merchant could become Arigena.

Nope. Qunari can be promoted within their given field. This was told to us by Mary Kirby, IIRC. So a soldier in the Antaam can move up the ladder and gain a higher rank, if they are capable enough.

Wait? The Sten, we all know and love from DAO is the new Arishok? I thought he was just in the line(being a Sten and all), but not the next in line.

It is on the cards. Maybe Arishok will have some semblance of sentimentality towards humans after his warden escapades.

A slight chance for diplomacy, woo!

Though if the Qunari companion thing proves true, Sten and said companion may know each other.

It's possible, but then he might just respect the Warden, not humans or elfs, in DA2 The Arishok only respected hawke because she proved to him she was storng despite being a mage and female, but judging from his distaste towards the other humans in the hall, how he killed the Viscount and his plans for Isabela, it shows he just had respect for Hawke, not humans.

Nope. He got promoted to Arishok in Those Who Speak. Incidentally, I had been calling it for many, many months now -- though I'm fairly certain Bioware had thought of it first before I did.

Intresting.I could just picture his reaction waiting for the Arishok to return to give him the report while he was eating cookies.

Not but srlsy. Id like to see LOTS more of the Qunari. They are one of my favorite races in fantasy.

Really, I'm far more intrested in the Qunari and the possible invasion more then the whole Templar/Mage thing. The Qun and Kossith are extreamly well written.

Issue 2 is supposed to be out TODAY but I STILL can't get the digital version from Dark Horse.  *shakes fist*  You'd think the digital version would be EASIER to get but noooooooooo.
