 Who doesn't love Trolls...                                                ....or Spam?

All kidding aside, I would love to see trolls in Dragon Age 3. We already have Human, Elves, and Dwarves so why not add other fantasy races like Trolls, Orcs, or Goblins.

Goblins are always one of the best enemies to beat up on, sort of like Husks in Mass Effect or Genlocks in DA:O, why not add Goblins into DA3. Maybe Blood Mages summon them as pawns to fight the Templars instead of Shades.

Orcs sort of remind me of the Kossith, a giant race of humanoids but the Kossith are too civilized to be real Orcs. The Kossith came from somewhere before taking Par Vollen so maybe the Orcs will arrive in Thedas next.

Finally everybodies favorite, the Trolls. I really don’t see anything to compare Trolls to in the DA universe. Maybe when Ogres become freed Darkspawn they magically turn into Trolls. Space Magic, Taint Magic same thing.

Well That’s about it. I would love to see Trolls, Orcs, and Goblins in DA3. Fighting Blood Mages and Darkspawn is fun but mix it up a little bit.

Darkspawn are already Orcs/goblins. They serve the same function anyways.

yeah the Genlocks are pretty much Goblins as I said. But I'd rather see Goblins than Shades every time I turn a corner

I hate trolls because you had to kill them with fire or something in the D&D games. They wouldn't die. Or was that just temple of elemental evil game?

Bg2 at least was like that, NWN might have been as well.

Nah, you were right the first time. Only fire (or magic) damage sticks. Everything else regenerates. This is a long-time staple of all D&D based games, including Temple of Elemental Evil, Baldur's Gate, NWN, etc, etc, etc...

Being a troll, I'm begining to take offense. Everyone here who are just here to say they hate trolls should take another look at the rules.

Meh... I would prefer that they NOT get too far into the typical fantasy races by adding those things. Thedas doesn't have to be Forgotten Realms. Just because there are elves, dwarves, and dragons doesn't mean there has to be all of those other things.

That said, Thedas is only one continent. There is the rest of the planet to go through, and who knows what is there.

I'm frankly shocked that I haven't seen a Drow suggestion yet.

If it's just a matter of having a wider variety of stuff to stab in the face, then I could get behind it. As long as a wider variety of combat abilities/mechanics goes along with it.

I played the Temple of Elemental Evil the old school D&D method. It was my first dungeon. Talk about pissing off the DM. See we knew the rules as well as the DM, and that didn't make for a good session at times... "Well, it doesn't say we can't do that."

Personally, I just want a few 'epic' optional boss battles. In DA:O and DA2 there is the High Dragon and some various powerful demons. Adding a giant troll to the list of optional boss battles would be cool :)

That'd be kinda cool. Like maybe you hear a rumor that a troll is terrorizing a small village, and you have the choice to go and elimate it for them or let someone else handle it. I really like that idea actually.

As long as there's decent explanation for the troll, rather than those gremlin things from MotA.

Hmm... Why is it that people always forget that people can be the most fearsome of all things to battle. Trolls, goblins, and orcs are fine for D&D, but give me a battle between groups of balanced parties of people and their bosses for a real challenge.

Ogres = Trolls
Genlocks = Orcs

Why would you want new creatures with new designs that act the same as a pre-existing race? I'd welcome such creatures though if Bioware manages to make them unique in behavior and design though.

I think Genlocks are more equal to Goblins. Weak creatures that are just fun to beat up on.

I would like that too. To be honest I made this thread just for gits and shiggles although it would be interesting to see how Goblins, Trolls, and Orcs could be implemented in the DA world but I would love a fight between to equal parties and their heads as bosses like you said.

 I gotta agree with this.

BioWare, if you don't feel like incorporating trolls into your game. How about an "Easter egg" that you can come across in a mission. Maybe you need to get an item off of it?

You could make it a troll that eats spam as a reference to some of your more humorous fans on these forums!

im sure you'd be loved for it and it'd be a good bit of comic-relief. :)
