Can I tar and feather his/her arse; for the Game Developer Hall of Shame?

I mean did I pay to play, or to start a list of unavailable questlines...

Now I need to start the darn game over, and waste 12 hours of gameplay; just to aquire the rogue  Lelianna?

This
is my third playthrough, and I'm just starting to get it...What sick
thing to code!?  Lothering is needed for TWO(2...) Companions; plus a
half dozen quests!  All of which is about the size of Lelianna's DLC; so just don't say it wasn't that important!!

Sure the blight was coming to Lothering...but the blight threatens ALL OF FERRELDEN!
And there is nothing to say what quests needed be done first(i.e.
Companion Approval, Experience, Treasure, etc.)  Nor is there any
cutscene(s) to let you know what's coming, nor what has happened?

Booo...

Stupid Stupid Stupid <like the gamefly commercial...>

But Lothering was the southernmost among the locations mentioned in the game, next to ostagar, and as such, it was certain for it to get hit by the blight soon enough.

Well, to be honest, the side quests in Lothering doesn't even take half an hour.

Hey, I missed Leiliana first playthrough, and I'm okay with that!

(Mostly because I played rogue that playthrough, but still!)

i pretty much keep leiliana in my team all the way through as shes a decent ranged character and doesn't steal my kills *cough aliaster cough* so i'd be pretty peeved if i missed out on her and *spoiler**** she makes getting sten that much easier.

I understand your frustration. The very first time I played DAO I totally missed the tavern and could not persuade the reverend mother to let Sten out. I wound up abandoning the game after Lotehring snuffed it and started afresh with a new Warden (went from Cousland to Tabris, for the curious. Much better in every way).

To be fair, Alistair does warn you that Lothering is doomed.

As does Morrigan.

Do any of these "Warnings" give you any kind of Timeline; no they don't, because you "Unwittingly" control when it gets sacked.

And again, the entire Kingdom is "Doomed;" less you "Play" the "Game;" as in Play that makes this a Game and not just a cartoon...

Would've been nice for a "stay and defend" lothering option, Maybe even buy a house there and start a property career.
Personally after you finish the chanters board, grab Sten and Leiliana i probably wouldn't revisit anyway, its not exactly Denerim. But i have wondered about the cave entrance at the far right end where the giant spiders are, that could have been used as a side quest whilst there or an entrance to lothering from a seperate area like the cave at the mages guild

It got you to do three playthroughs, so mission accomplished, I'd say. I feel your frustration, but having the threat of irrevocable things happening adds to the tension. Otherwise we'd just dilly-dally around Ferelden, like I did around the Milky Way in ME2. (I figured out pretty early that if I didn't get the IFF I could just fly around fondling planets for resources, doing N7 missions and shopping.)

Doesn't Leliana wait for you as you're leaving Lothering even if you miss the tavern?

She certainly does if you turn her down in the tavern (which is worth it just for Alistair's "Princess stabbity" line), but I'm not sure what happens if you don't go into the tavern at all.

If you don't go to the tavern, she won't show up.

I never have turned her down, I think I will next time just to get this line and than go back to get Sten later....lol.  Not to mention I love her and Shales lines when there in my party......Shale has a very interesiting view on the maker being evil since he created birds and darkspawn.

I hav'nt had any use of Leliana ever since i installed Lock Bash mod
http://dragonage.nex...ds.com/mods/301

And releasing Stan is no problem if you are solo:
just threaten granmommy and you get the key

You dont need leliana to get sten, if you're a rogue you can just unlock his cage, or if you have high enough persuade, you can talk the rev mother into giving him to you.
