I'm playing on the 360. Still a 'yes'? I'm a little confused you know:P

Until confirmed I can obviously only be 99% sure, but all evidence points to yes, it would work the same on all 3 platforms.

If it doesn't include the DLC, then BioWare/EA would want you to buy the DLC, so it would be compatible. It's confirmed it connects to your BioWare account because you can play MP. The only way it wouldn't recognise your DLC is if they purposely locked it out. And I've never heard of that happening on any video game.

So, yes. If it doesn't include the DLC (and even if it does), it will recognise your DLC on 360.

Since I already have all three games, and all the SP DLC (with the exception of Pinnacle Station) I see no reason for me to purchase this.

Which is good, because I would hate if Bioware had decided that buying everything all over again was the only way to get some exclusive new thing.

I'm glad PS3 folks can finally get ME1, although I guess it's too bad if they already have ME2 and ME3, so some will essentially be paying $60 just for a 5 year old game. Still, it's nice to have the option.

Is it confirmed for UK? If so, the standard £40 for a AAA release.

I'll probably get this, but I dont know why they would release the trilogy when Halo 4 comes out.

Just so you all know, ME1 will be available on it's own to download on PS3.

Exactly. It's called variety. Those dialogues break up what would become monotonous.

Also, you don't encounter the same map (apart from the Citadel) for at least 50 hours. Whereas in the MP you see the same maps every hour or two.

Plus, you know. I love the dialogue and story.

Variety in MP comes not in the form of those 13 maps or 3 enemy types (although those provide some variety). There are 37 different characters, and lots of them play vastly different, even within the same class. With each of those characters you can spec powers in different ways, so there's even variety within the same character. And on top of that, you have lots of weapons, mods and gear, which change the playstyle with the same build even further. And of course each match is different, because you have to adapt to the classes, playstyles and skills of the other 3 players.

If playing with a plethora of possible strategies, builds and techniques is not your thing, well then MP is not for you. MP has variety, just perhaps not the kind of variety you want.

In the campaign, the combat is just the means to an end. In multiplayer, there's no point to it. Just mindless shooting and more shooting and more shooting... so you can eventually get new characters and new guns and do some more shooting with them... and so on.

Show me the part in the campaign, where I can charge into enemies with my Krogan Battlemaster, smash heads with my Batarian Sentinel, melt stuff with my Geth melee-attack, jump through solid walls with my Fury, set enemies on fire with a vorcha or slice Phantoms with my Slayer... The multiplayer has a great variety of playstyles, more than the campaign could ever have and this just by changing a character before the next round instead of starting a new campaign.

Can't we just agree, that the campaign has of course its merits - I mean, that's what most of us are here for since ME1, but the multiplayer can give variety and fun to people who play it, too? Is it so hard to believe that we enjoy unlocking stuff (and not only weapons, but powers and different classes), trying it out, getting together with 3 friends and just have a good time while headbutting Cerberus goons with our Krogans?

This offer is to shake money... finish the trilogy first and then make a compilation, an anthology or a series of the decade edition or something with all DLC included (and by all I mean all game content unlocked)... that's the only thing that could convince me to buy "the trilogy'.

That was a very objective statement. I respect that.

+1, fair poster.

That's a really good point. This seems like an oddly timed release, i mean obviously it's for the Christmas markets, but if they had waited until all their DLCs were released, then they could have released the trilogy with an extra disc or 2 for DLCs and other bonus stuff like actor interviews and a sneak peak of Fornax.

The triology will be a niche like those Silent Hill and Metal Gear packs you can buy.  It's not going to be a triple A title that has people all over it, nor will it threaten Minecraft DLC, let alone Halo 4.

It's simply a collectors edition for Xbox owners, a chance to get ME1 for PS3 owners and something that someone who's never heard of ME might think "3 games for the price of one".

I doubt it will sell much.  The PS3 downloadable of ME1 might shift close to a million if they're lucky.  Basically most people who like Mass Effect, already have Mass Effect 2-3 at least.

What a coincidence: I've just gotten back into replaying ME1 and wrote out a trilogy outline on my Ipad.

Really this news isn't worth getting excited over. The only thing news to me is the fact ME1 will be available on the PS3 at last. Doesn't change anything that's already been done before.

More importantly, why put this out now?

why would you get future DLCs for free?

that has nothing to do with how EA works. no company would ever do that..

Pre-ordering Borderlands 2 got you the next DLC to be released for free.

I'm pretty sure other games have given you the Season passes for free also.

So, it's unusual, but not unheard of.

you got it only if you pre-ordered it and that's because it's an incentive to buy a brand new game.

and if you pre-ordered Darksiders II on THQ website you got the season pass free, that's it.

THQ needed the extra money because they're about to collapse and 2K has a bunch of DLC or BL2. The characters and everything aren't even part of the season pass so you'll have the buy the mechromancer separately if you didn't pre-order

EDIT: and as you can tell from my signature, different levels of drunkenness when playing adds even more variety for meB)

...who said this was made for current trilogy owners?

You are aware there are over 100 million consoles out there, and ME has sold probably a total of 10million right?

There are probably 50 million potential customers when you factor in people buying multiple systems.

Meh, to get any of these fancy classes you have to play a ridiculous amount of games. Unless you're really devoted to the Multiplayer, you're stuck with the six standard classes and slight variations of them.
Now, a Multiplayer game that I enjoy is League of Legends. It has over 100 characters to choose from, and each has his own distinctive style, his own little unique gimmick or ability, and there's a plethora of possible builds for each character. Plus, multiple gamemodes, and so on.
ME3's Multiplayer mode just can't compare with actual Multiplayer games. Imo, anyway.

Aww... where's the FemShep version for the cover?

I played through consistently as FemShep over a dozen times in 1 - about 4 times in 2 and am onto my 3rd playthrough with FemShep in 3 - for all the games maybe only 3 times as JohnShep in 1 - still haven't completed a full JohnShep in 2 and not at all for 3

Would be nice to see a new consistent FemShep face available for 1,2 and 3 as an added bonus

Where is the official posting regarding this?

The only announcement I see on the forums is this topic, which is just announcing the Trilogy pack. Not seen any posting by a Dev or Community person commenting on the 'N7 Day' or that ME will also be available for digital download for the PS3.

I would rather believe it from an official source than some other site/reporter

Mass Effect 1 - $9.99 NZ
Mass Effect 2 - $19.99 NZ
Mass Effect 3 - $48.99 NZ

That's a total of $80 NZ for the games as they stand separately, this new pack would be $72 NZ after currency conversion, that's not including the extra costs we get lumped on top due to suppliers and retail adding their share on this end. So it would end up costing more than that in the end.

I'm sure the same stands elsewhere too. Why bother buying a collection of the three games at this price when you can get all three new for less than that currently. (excluding ME1 for PS3 of course). They would have to include all the DLC to even make it worth the asking price.
