ME1 for the PS3?

Am I dreaming?

:D

Hehe I can imagine it must feel like a dream for PS3 players after so long and most people (not me ;P ) telling them how it will never happen because Microsoft and blah blah
Congratz to you and all PS3 players! :D

Yup, it definitely feels good. I've actually held off from watching me1 videos on YouTube in hopes that me1 will makes it's way to ps3. Obviously, I know how the story places out but to finally have a opportunity to experience the beginning of the story is just awesome!

Talking to Sovereign
Meeting the Real Ash(not the irrational me2 version or the dolled up me3 version)
Hearing Kirrahe's awesome speech
Shepard's Spectre ceremony
Saren
And much more!!!

Nice work, bioware!

This needs to include, at the very least, LotSB, Arrival and EC as these are plot-critical DLC. ME3's story arc continues from ME2 with the presumption of the two former DLCs being played and EC for obvious reasons.

I would also argue that Kasumi and From Ashes should be included. This is meant to be a "definitive" edition of all three games therefore all content that adds to the plot, be it directly or through additional characters, should be included in the package. If the price is upped to compensate, absolutely fine.

Soooo let me get this straight, none of the limited time extra DLC, none of the ME2 DLC that doesn't come with a new copy anyway, and none of the ME3 stuff.

Even new people to the series could pick up all three games brand new with that basic stuff (besides PS3 with ME1) for less than the asking price of this set, quite a bit less actually. Why would anyone pay $20 extra for a box? After all the requests for a ME2 Ultimate this is what Bioware and EA come up with? Color me disappointed :/

I am saying that Chris will reveal more details which means the other DLC may be available and Chris may say that in the near future(I hope!)

So dont get dissappointedy et, if Chris nor any bioware staff says nothing about what you want in the trilogy by the time its released then yu get disappointed!

Most people on BSN already have most DLC, so I'm just happy for PS3 players getting ME1. They were asking for it for nearly 2 years

No one is praising them for that.

I don't see how this is a bad deal anyway. Each ME game for 20 bucks like it's always been....

Now you just get cool artwork to go with it.

No problem. If you simply want to be kept up to date on Mass Effect related tweets, there's a handy little thread for that:)

Hi everyone

Answering some of your most asked questions. Will provide more detail as the rest becomes available:

What DLC is included in the Mass Effect Trilogy?

  • On PC, Mass Effect will include Bring Down the Sky and Pinnacle Station on disk.  For Mass Effect 2, Cerberus Network will be included which features Zaeed – The Price of Revenge, The Firewalker Pack, Cerberus Assault Gear, Arc Projector heavy weapon, and Normandy Crash site mission.  For Mass Effect 3, Online Pass will be included granting players access to co-op multiplayer.
  • On Xbox 360, Bring Down the Sky and Pinnacle Station are not included with Mass Effect, however they are available as stand-alone downloads through Xbox LIVE.  For Mass Effect 2, Cerberus Network will be included and Online Pass will be included for Mass Effect 3.
  • Information on PlayStation 3 DLC will be available soon.
Will the original Mass Effect be available as a standalone game on PlayStation 3?
  • YES the original Mass Effect will be available as a standalone digital title through the PlayStation Network for $14.99.  It will release the same day as the Mass Effect Trilogy on PlayStation 3.
Is the Mass Effect Trilogy compatible with other versions of Mass Effect?
  • Yes, the Mass Effect Trilogy is compatible with other versions of Mass Effect.  This means you can use saves from across the original Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, and Mass Effect 3 titles with the Trilogy.  Mass Effect 3 multiplayer is also compatible across different versions.
Hope this helps. Keep asking any unanswered questions and I'll keep working on the answers.

Hi Chris,

thanks for answering those questions.

I have two additional questions regarding the arrival (ha!B)) of ME1 on PS3 if you don't mind. Can you say if there's an update coming for ME2 to import those ME1 saves? And if so, will we PS3 gamers then be able to enjoy ME2 and 3 the same way PC and XBOX users have been, with all the little details that were left out of the PS3 versions originally because there was no ME1 on PS3 (like Conrad Verner etc.)?

Thanks

Thanks for getting back to us Chris, that helps heaps. Look basically I will be buying at the very least the download for ME1 on PS3. The icing on the cake would be whether my save game from ME would transfer over to ME2 on the playstation? Cos let me tell you, if that's confirmed Bioware has pretty much guaranteed I will be playing pretty much these 3 games and NOTHING else in 2013 :)
Seriously, my partner will be so pissed at me

Awe man! Now how can I argue xbox is better...halo? Jk playstation owners, i only got it for gears of war which got old fast, for me anyways. Trilogy idea is pretty cool but little incentive for previous owners, esp. CE owners.

Well, since all the DLC won't be included on disc, and I already own all the games+DLC, I have no reason to buy this. Great idea, but it's still "incomplete" as far as ultimate packages though.

Chris, I am also curious about the box that the game discs will come in. They won't be like the one that came with the ME3 CE will it? Many of us had a difficult time getting the discs out without snapping them. I'd really hate for that to happen again.

I don't understand why people don't understand that this is not really aimed at anyone that already owns the game. Boxed copies of the ME1 are not sold at the big box stores anymore and at the Target I work at we don't even carry ME2 for the 360 anymore. This set is for people that have never bought the series and providing a box in a store that can be purchased. I know some collectors will still want to buy it but they are not "screwing" you out of content. This is just a way to get a tidy pack out for holiday and if those customers want the dlc they just buy it like the rest of us did.

Chris, a few of us have asked if there will be an alternate FemShep box. I know I for one would love one.

There is not gonna be an alternate FemShep box, but there is gonna be something, according to these two tweets:

twitter.com/masseffect/status/250992621193924608
@sarah_ann_mann Well, we've got a little something special planned for FemShep coming, so keep that chin up! :)

twitter.com/masseffect/status/250994564943450112
@sarah_ann_mann @Crazy_Rah Not with the cover art. We're doing something separate.

I don't follow anything on Twitter so thanks a lot for posting that.

I can see themselves releasing two different Mass Effect Trilogy's one with Male Shepard and another with Female Shepard. Two different SKUs. Sucks that Bioware isn't including any DLC. What a bare bones package. I can scuffle in the bargain bin and find all 3 for less than $30. Half the cost of what we see here.

While I'd rather have a physical copy of ME1, ME1 would probably run smoother on the HDD.

-Does Mass Effect 1 on PS3 include the DLC?

-Like it's been asked a billion and one times: Will ME1 decisions be imported to ME2?
