I would really like some of the questions I have about the Mass Effect digital copy available for PS3 answered. Will side characters like Fist and Conrad Verner carry over into my copies of Mass Effect 2 and 3? Will I go through Mass Effect only to have to watch and use the Mass Effect: Genesis comic? My main question is will the digital download be a seamless transition. Do I need to get the trilogy to get the full experience.

I hope they have thought of this and honestly if all the things about the import don't happen imagine the fan outrage that would happen Bioware might not be the best company right now but I don't think they are that stupid.Image IPB

Yes, the devs said that they would patch ME2 PS3 to accept ME1 saves.

I think everyone would agree with me on this. Onces you make the trilogy edition for mass effect. Don't for get to Add-on The Extended Ending And All The Multiplayer Dlc on DISC for all platforms. it would make sense to add them all for this trilogy edition for all platforms then to be sold separatly. as a big mass effect fan I advise you to do so. after all the issues that have happen since release date for mass effect 3,  if you want to make your self back on top and look smart. add the Extended Ending on Disc. is the mass effect 1 going to be on disc for ps3 as well or just as a dlc extra. everyone I have a feeling that mass effect 1 will not be sold as a disc but rather as a DLC to download from PSN like what they have confirmed it makes sense but I was hoping it would be on the cd

If it's just a DLC code for ME1 and not on disc then i will just download it off PSn, since i have 2-3 but was going to buy the trilogy anyways to have a physical copy of ME1, but if just a download code, no thanks.

Yea I'm really wanting ME1 on disc, and am willin to buy the collection (and thus rebuy ME2/3) for it. Not having it on disc doesn't seem "right" to me.

i would think they will put ME1 on disc for the PS3, since alot of people might not have the HDD space for the digital copy.

Will Mass Effect 1 for PS3 run off of the ME3 engine like they did with ME2 for PS3?

I also hope they include all ME1 DLC but something tells me since PSN does not have it, they will want to charge us extra for all DLC which is odd since PC players get a ton of DLC for free in their trilogy pack.

I think that ME1 on PS3 will come with the dlc, since a large reason for the trilogys existance is to make up with PS3 players, so they'll probably do stuff like throw  in DLC to sweeten the package. Also, parts of 2's and 3's engine will be integrated into ME1 on PS3 similarly to how ME2 was integrated with parts of three's engine. According to the devs, this means a better frame-rate than ME1 on 360 and better texture loading than the 360 and PC versions.

The devs said over twitter that once the game finished certification they would tell us what DLC was included and what the release date is.

So I can pay $60 for two games, exactly as I have them, no new DLC or anything... Or I can download ME1, likely with no DLC, and have to give up 5-10 GB on my system?

The Hell? Why can't we just get ME1 on a disc? Some of us PS3 players are early adopters who happen to have itty-bitty HDs. Some of us even like to have actual physical copies of the things that we buy.

Dead on. One of the advantages of playing games on consoles is you don't have to upgrade your hardware to play games.

The game has been sent to Sony for certification earlier this week so the actual work for porting the game is complete.
Certification can take some time, couple of weeks and after that there's still pressing the discs and shipping the game, but as the producer said: "We're working hard to try to get it done in time for Christmas. :)"
