Great now PS3 owners to can experience the crushing disapointment of ME3 all the way from ME1.

Or people who happen to like ME3 (despite the endings) and have it on PS3 can have a chance to play ME1 themselves, that said this isn't the place to talk about the endings

I feel sorry for people who have such low standards for this great game that they actually enjoyed the third game after that ending

I feel sorry for people who can't get past the disappointment of the endings to see the rest of ME3 for what it is: one of the best games ever.  And I don't have low standards either.  I play very few video games now.  They just don't interest me like they used to.  But Mass Effect -- all three games -- have brought something I've never seen before.  Yes, the ending to the series isn't what it could have been.  But all three games are amazing and, atleast IMO, ME3 takes the cake even with its slip-ups.

I feel sorry for anybody whose life is so unfulfilling that they actually feel pity towards someone else over their opinion on a freaking videogame.

Back on topic, is this trilogy pack going to be a limited thing? I'd like to own it but I'm not sure I'd be willing to pay full price. Although if there's a chance I'll miss out completely if I don't, then I may bite.

I'm sure it won't be any limited thing. It will most likely be EA's #1 platform to sell the trilogy for the next year-two (until at least Ultimate Trilogy Edition comes out or something)

ME3 was the worst of the trilogy less rpg elements and the journal system was ruined Im not saying the game was bad but it was the worst of the three

Okay, thanks. Now I need to decide if I can wait for said ultimate edition (It's going to happen, let's be honest).

Maybe for you. I own ME2 with all DLC and ME3 with all current DLC, but will still be buying this just for ME1.

If your on ps3 thats not very smart considering you can get the first game digitally for 15 dollars really any reason to get this if you have everything for 2 and 3 is pointless you are wasting money and encouraging ea to rip off their customers

And its also only 15 on xbox digitially

But it's not gonna get released standalone on disc on PS3, so the collection is the only way to get it on disc. PS3 fans waited years for it, they're incredibly lucky (how many games published by a console manufactuer ended up getting released on a console of a competitor? ME1 is the only example like that I can think of) I think they can allow themselves a bit of 'extravaganza'. Plus, they can always sell their current ME2 & ME3 copies (DLC is tied to PSN account anyway) to get cash for Collection edition

No gameplay changes? Why bother...

Well, if you've been unfortunate enough to have never played a Mass Effect game.. this is the best thing to come into your life, including Marriage/First-Born/Viginity Obliteration....

Imagine... that awe you experienced the first playthrough x 3... with DLC... It would be mindblowing.

The digital versions of games usually have the shortest loading times and the least amount of issues.

I'll be picking up the digital version.

Guess nothing can stay exclusive to the 360 anymore. Now Sony has to give up one of their exclusives. Otherwise, I won't buy another ME game..Sad that EA won't let an exclusive stay exclusive.

Edit---This will be my last purchase of a Bioware game until they get out from underneath EA's slimey claws.

Because Mass Effect wasn't released on PC shortly after the 360 release was it? <_<

Yeah most of the time but Mass Effect 3 digital off PSN still has the framerate issuses not to mention mine freezes every 2 to 6 hours if I don't restart before that amount of time and its the only game that I have that has that issuse.Image IPB

Will the original Mass Effect be available as a standalone game on PlayStation 3?

  • YES the original Mass Effect will be available as a standalone digital title through the PlayStation Network for $14.99.  It will release the same day as the Mass Effect Trilogy on PlayStation 3.
Is the Mass Effect Trilogy compatible with other versions of Mass Effect?
  • Yes, the Mass Effect Trilogy is compatible with other versions of Mass Effect.  This means you can use saves from across the original Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, and Mass Effect 3 titles with the Trilogy.  Mass Effect 3 multiplayer is also compatible across different versions.

Alright so the first game will be available as a standalone purchase through the PSN for an affordable price, that's awesome. My main question was whether or not I would be able to transfer my Shepard from the first game into my version of the second (and third) game that I already have for PS3. This seems to be saying that they're all compatible (which is good 'cause it would kind of really ****** me off if I had to buy the "new" versions of the second and third game just to transfer over my save game from the first). It doesn't really specifically say that that's possible but saying "the Mass Effect Trilogy is compatible with other versions of Mass Effect" more or less means that it'll work to me so awesome. I'll be getting the first one on the PSN for sure when it comes out then. :-) Oh, also, I'm wondering if there is an official release date for when the first game will be coming to the PSN yet or if they're still just saying that it's coming later then it'll be coming to every other platform/console? I know the trilogy's being released for 360 & PC November 6th, but it says it will be released "later for PS3" with no actual date given. It also says that the first game will be available on the PSN on the same day that the trilogy comes out for PS3 but again, there's no actual date given. Does anyone know if they've come out with a date since or not yet?

Yes, the producer of Mass Effect Trilogy (and ME1 PS3 port) confirmed on Twitter that there will be a patch for existing versions of ME2 to allow imports

Its still a waste of money the digital edition is gonna load faster and overall be less of a headache in terms of framerate and all the issues a disc version will have

I don't see why it wouldn't.

The LoTSB, Overlord, and Kasumi DLC aren't on the Playstation Store.

Why does it say over 75 hours of story content?

Why not over 100 hours?

Each game only takes about 30 hours or so so saying over 100 hours would be a lie
