With the recent announcement of Dragon Age III I've already begun to wonder about a collector's edition of the game (I do like them).  Here's what I'd like to see:

-Steel case.  Any good collector's edition must ship in a steel case.
-Making-of companion disc would be cool.  Maybe a cloth map similar to the one included in the CE of Dragon Age: Origins.
-Alternate appearances and additional armors and weapons.

Any other suggestions?

I'll buy a collector's edition if it comes with extra in-game content. I don't really care about other stuff. If anything, I'd rather pass on kinda crappy knick-knacks that are just gonna take up space.

Cloth map would indeed be amazing. I'd also like some cool poster and possibly - I've only ever seen this in a single CE - a letter from somebody (some people?) from BioWare. I know it's just a mass-produced thing, but it still feels great to read, darnit xD

Making-of documentary, soundtrack (possibly phisical) and artbook (best if hardbook) are a must for great CEs. A cloth map is always a great addition (it's the thing that usually takes me from "interesting" to "OMG must buy").
I also like when there's an item from the game or something special as an extra, like the cards in Ultima IX or the comic in Fallout New Vegas.

I'd like a digital soundtrack and digital artbook. I don't really care about physical swag, but I know a lot of people love cloth maps, and since this is a bigger DA game, a new map might be nice.

Just need BioWare to make sure that the discs can be taken out easily, so I won't have to worry about snapping them whenever I try to take them out of the case.

Artbook! I want all the artbooks, always. Soundtrack is nice, too, especially if it's a proper one, not some best of thingy (like in the ACR collector's edition). Map might be nice as well, I guess. I like figures, too, but those always make it so expensive...

I actually don't care that much about extra in game content, especially if it's something big, like extra missions instead of just a nifty item. I never really liked that, makes me feel bad for those that can't get the CE. And if it's included in a DLC later on, I just know people will complain about being cheated (I do remember some people doing exactly that when some pre order bonus mission for ACR was included in the TLA DLC).

I buy almost all my games digitally now, so a digital art book would be really nice to go with the soundtrack, since I miss out on the other things like patches, maps, etc.

I'd like the CE to get all the 'pre-order here' content and like us in Facebook/suscribe on YouTube/follow on Twitter content that lots of games give out.

I concur with others about the soundtrack. As a digital buyer (despite my horrendous "bandwidth" [sic] at home), physical items have less appeal to me.

Perhaps there should be two topics:
  • Retail (boxed) Collector's Edition
  • Digital (download) Collector's Edition

Thanks for all your replies.  I think there will definitely be a digital deluxe version as well as a physical boxed collector's edition for DA3.  Here's another question: would you be willing to pay for a high-priced collector's edition if it also included the first two games and their respective DLCs?

I already own it, so no.
I want soundtrack, artbook, cloth map and all the different preorder bonuses. Pre-order bonuses reward loyal customers right? I'd say buying a collectors edition proves your loyalty.

I was thinking the inclusion of the first two games would be for those haven't played them (I doubt they will be included).
