I want a Mass Effect Trilogy: Director's Cut. Bioware, go in and add all the stuff you meant to do but didn't because of deadlines, and then I will rebuy the trilogy.

@Kenny
probably has the EC and multipalyer packs, not sure about the pay stuff like From Ashes.

Since you download the free packs for free, I do wonder why they'd include them on disk, but who knows.  They might.  And there's only 5 disks (PS3 version doesn't have a release date yet), so they are either the xbox or PC disks.  Xbox has 6 disks right now just for the games.  They must have consolidated the content to fit 5 disks.

That might be something worth it.  I can't see paying for stuff you already have, so who's this all for?  All they really had to do was announce the release of ME1 for PS3 (disk or download) and 1 and 2 for WiiU.

I thought it was 5 disks because ME1 is only on 1 disk, no?

Really the main question is...Does it include all the dlc and give anything extra?

If not then I don't see the point in them releasing a trilogy pack especially when so many of their fans are angry at them to begin with.

Yeah, the only thing would be the PS3 ME1 addition for those who want it, other than that there's no up side.

Exactly. This is mainly for hardcore collecters. Most fans won't get it because they already have the games. If nothing is being added then what is the point.

I love the Mass Effect trilogy (all the way until Priority:Earth) but I won't be buying a collector pack like thyis unless it provides me with something great. There are some dlc I don't have (Pinnacle Station, Leviathan, Overlord) but I won't re-buy all 3 games for a couple of dlc (if they are even included) especially since whether you have the dlc or not you get the same ending.

Like you said there is no upside other than PS3 getting ME1 and a shiny box

This is surprising. Other than Gears, ME1 was really the only other exclusive game draw for Xbox.

Well, considering that the current-gen console cycle is coming to an end, and Mass Effect has become multi-platform, it doesn't really surprise me. Though, that licensing agreement does. Glad that the PS3 folks will finally have the chance to play ME1!

But, yeah, I'll echo the other sentiments: what'll be the situation with DLC, and will the XBOX version come packaged with all the content for Mass Effect 2 that the PS3 edition came with? Moreover, will there be any incentive for those who already have all the games and DLC---or is this just a holiday package for newcomers?

dont forget ps3 discs are blueray so only one per game...

p

These are all valid and great questions.  Part of me wonders beyond PS3 owners getting ME1, what the benefits of this are.

You can get bundles of ME1 and 2 now for $12 in places, you can buy them used for the xbox.  In fact, you could get all 3 of the games for the xbox and on disk for the PC for less than this.  DLC would make it more appealing.  But, recently Bethesda bundled Oblivion and Fallout 3 together for $20 without DLC.

It's hard to see how this could have DLC with it, unless you get download codes because there are 5 disks-you have 6 just for the games on xbox now.

It's possible that they revamped ME1.

Perhaps on consoles they used a newer version of the Unreal Engine so there is less FPS issues and bugs.

About transferring your ME1 save on PS3: wouldn't that mean BW'd have to insert content like Shiala in ME2 and Conrad Verner in 2 and 3?

Yeah, along with all that dialogue.  There are additions to a lot of dialogue along the way.  References to ilos, Sovereign, and so on as well as characters like Helena Blake, Shiala, Conrad, and I can't remember if Kirrahe shows up in ME3 if you never met him on Virmire or not.  I can't remember who else, but I do know that Joker says some different things, Liara does, and so on depending on what games you played.  That doesn't change anything, it's just coloring.

So, they'd have to patch that for ME2 and 3 for the PS3.

Well, as Taboo pointed out in another thread, that could explain the unannounced "later" date for the PS3 release.

Yea you're probably right. Wishful thinking on my part.

But if they're remaking it for the PS3, I can't see why they wouldn't use the newer Unreal Engine 3.5.

Wait....wait....hold a second! Mass Effect Trilogy edition ok so far. But without bug fixes??
isn't it so hard to fixes bug's from Mass Effect 1 til Mass Effect 3??

And the guy's who already got Mass Effect 2 and 3, must pay again 80$ may 90$ for an
(N7 Elite Edition) my luck that i have only a PC ^^. but this isn't fair i think so.

and no dlc's included i hope it is still in progress.

Could this mean that after this release the possibility of no further ME3 DLC exists?

Yeah. At least Prothean weapons don't use thermal clips.

ok lets go through what they have said in the notes

•Over 75 hours of story content, plus Mass Effect 3’s critically acclaimed multiplayer mode.

TRUE fact there is over 75 hours of play, if truth be told you can get roughly 100+ hours per game if you want to get perfection

"ME3 critically acclaimed multiplayer mode." no that is a LIE, almost EVERY review i have read have panned the MP so much that most reviewers dont even aknowlage it

•Create and customize your own character with his or her appearance and skills, then play your Commander Shepard through all three Mass Effect games.

why yes that is true you can indeed do that with your version of shepard be it male or female

•Experience an amazingly rich and detailed universe where your decisions have profound consequences on the action and the outcome.

this is only PARTLY true, the chopices you make in ME1 affect ME2 and has an affect on the end mission in ME2 but as is was shown in ME3 no matter what you did in ME1 or ME2 so this i am afraid is an OUTRIGHT LIE

•Build a personalized arsenal with powerful weapons complete with their own upgrades and modifications

you cannot personalize weapons in game, you can only add in PRE-DEFINED and SET mods which is not what  is classed as "personalized" so this is a half truth

•Unleash devastating abilities and skills as you command and train an elite squad.

yep you dont train your squadmates, you dont show them what to do, you cant ajust there AI nor can you change there personality so this is a half truth but is mostly a LIE
also you do have great powers but not as devastating as they are saying

•Take the war online with class-based, co-operative multiplayer in Mass Effect 3.
co-op multiplayer, where, when i never saw that in ANY of the games, all i see is a crappy gears of war horde mode rip-off.

co-op means you play through missions with another person over the inter network

sorry but they are still spouting bullcrap and lies as before, if they stuck to there PUBLIC PROMIESES and did what they said they did  then this would not be a coffin nail.

i suspect this will not sell as many as they think.

also they do have a small legal problem, mass effect 1 is still under microsofts copyright as bioware at the time was part of microsoft game studios.

if this goes onto the PS3 then i suspect there may be a HUGE LAWSUIT.

yes i know your all going to scream "BUT bioware made it and EA now own bioware so that means the game is now EA's"

well on a TECHNICAL note thats true BUT on a LEGAL note its not, that means microsoft will get a cut of EVERY SINGLE ONE of these trilogy packs sold.

If you do buy it, and that would make you a person who supports bad business practice, at least do what any self-respecting person did with the Indiana Jones box set: pay, then open it on the spot, remove the disc which contains the last installment, and break it infront of the store employees.
