IMO ME1 is the worst.

The details were never made public, but I suspect they only had the publishing rights for their own console. EA published ME1 on PC, so Microsoft never had exclusive publishing rights.TMA LIVE wrote...
I'm more wondering how Microsoft lost the publishing rights. Backroom deals, or simply an end to a contract?
When discussing exclusivity, naming something Microsoft exclusive when it's on both Xbox 360 and PC is quite pointless from two perspectives, being that of the players and Microsoft. Players approach exclusivity from the platform only, not the company, since it's irrelevant for the player that Microsoft owns both Xbox and Windows. Microsoft itself doesn't collect any money from PC games, unless they're released under GFWL or otherwise developed/published by Microsoft, so they don't beenfit from your concept of Microsoft exclusivity. In fact, it's better for Microsoft if as few Xbox titles as possible are released on PC.ZombieGambit wrote...

1. It stop being an exclusive the second it came to pc.
It's published by Microsoft and both Windows and the Xbox 360 are Microsoft products, please tell me how that's not exclusive to Microsoft?
All games that come out for 360 and later PC are considered exclusive, like Fable, Gears of War etc.

Xbox 720 is also getting Project Forzaleza(or whatever it's called), which are basically virtual reality glasses.Rubios wrote...

Why?
Playstation and Nintenfo have their exclusives, Microsost need some more and better. In my opinions Mass Effect will always be better on Xbox. I own Xbox, PS and PC use too Wii.
The AdBox 360 is basically a subscription-based poor's man PC without games at this point, and the 720 will be the same but with a 2000% more Kinect and Justin Bieber in the dashboard.
Meanwhile, WiiU and PS4 will have Zelda, Pokemon, Mario, Platinum Games, Naughty God, Team ICO, Sucker Punch, Guerrilla Games, Santa Monica...
Deal with it.

I just don't see why this is such a big deal to you... We can already play ME2 and ME3...
It was no longer an exclusive when those 2 games were made for PS3 as well. ME1 coming to PS3 was probably only a matter of time and red tape...

That's literally one publisher, and "Timed Exclusivity" Is a stupid Business strategy, considering it Alienates fans or persuades them to wait for a GOTY Edition a lot of the time..Justin2k wrote...

Not really. ME1 has been owned by Microsoft, not EA. Without MS consent it could never have happened. I assume they sold it. It's not like they need a five year old exclusive any longer.
Regarding OP, while we don't get great exclusive titles on Xbox, do remember we get a lot of love from the publishers in terms of DLC exclusives (skyrim, fallouts) Even this triology is being released on 360 months before the PS3 version.

Can someone honestly explain to me how this would ever negatively affect anyone?
But it was an exclusive. PC version was released 8 months after Xbox 360 version. Hell, on launch Xbox 360 copy it says "Only on Xbox". After June 2008 it went multiplatform as PC port was released.coles4971 wrote...

Yup. Apparently the PC copy I have of ME1 isn't actually real.

The console war was over some time ago.
For all the PS3's supposed "technical superiority" we never got to see it because most all games were multi-platform so built for the lowest spec machine. As a result, most things run better on 360. MS had good marketing strategy with pricing and timed exclusives and while I'm not interested in them, Halo and Gears of War have been huge in terms of exclusives. Also they picked up some former Sony exclusives such as Final Fantasy. They made it easier for developers to update Xbox live (look at how slow Sony has been with ME3 updates) and generally beat Sony with an inferior product but better business acumen.
Japan is the only market in which Sony outsold Microsoft and not by all that much.

Totally. You're a PS3 fanboy and I can see that, and obviously you want to believe you have the best product. But go look up sales. Sony have had their ass kicked all over the world. Except Japan where they were always going to win.
