By that logic, nothing's a better story than Twilight.Justin2k wrote...
The funny thing about this picture is that Halo 3 and Gears of War both outsold those PS3 exclusives twice over. I guess people like big macs. Also most multiplatform games outsell their PS3 counterparts. It has clearly beaten Sony in the console wars, whether it's better or not. Also Minecraft is console exclusive to xbox no? It's sold millions of copies for Microsoft too and been in the top 10 for months. It probably outsold Heavy Rain, not really much to laugh at.Rubios wrote...
To help you understand here, the point being made here is that while Sony games push boundaries and Nintendo retains their universally beloved characters, Microsoft's creations are relatively run-of-the-mill action shooters.
There's nothing wrong with that, but I think most ME players are RPG fans and will tend to gravitate towards a different type of game.
BTW Journey is amazing.

Why?
Playstation and Nintenfo have their exclusives, Microsost need some more and better. They are all great consoles in their own ways. I'm more of a Microsoft and Sony person. In my opinions Mass Effect will always be better on Xbox. I own Xbox, PS and PC use too Wii. I do research and I know.
Min happy for everyone else who will get to play the complete trilogy. I know I'm some what disappointed but I'm good. Also please don't hate because I think differently, different opinions and feelings.
I personally don't like exclusives and am happy that ME1 will be available on PS3 finally. I guess exclusives have an impact on console-sales (otherwise there wouldn't be any), but as a gamer I think they only make things more complicated.

Is it worth getting The Trilogy if you already have the games? I could use it as a decoration or something. I know I mainly play on Xbox, I play PS3 also. I know I have other games on its way too on both systems.
Are you out of your mind? Liara, is that you? Are you indoctrinated? Liara!? LIAAAARAAAAA!!!??
No. Don't get it if you already have the games. Not if the only reason for doing so is "decoration".

I'm more wondering how Microsoft lost the publishing rights. Backroom deals, or simply an end to a contract?
They had it only as long as the triogly took to make the series. Once it was done, bw could do what ever they wanted.
or probably BW said microsoft had exclusive publishing rights to ME1, a trilogy compilation would technically be sorta kinda a different entity. probably why us ps3 users are never gonna see me1 come to the system by itself (otherwise i'd get it seeing as how i already own the other 2 plus all available dlc)

That's the point of an exclusive, to get people to buy the console it is on. If it wasn't for the exclusive games it would all come down to the other services the platform offers and in that case everyone would have a PCdigby69 wrote...
You should NEVER have exclusives, they are just a nasty marketing excerise to force people to by this console or that console. Best for all is availablility on ALL platforms .
I can see this being good for the PS3 players who never got the first game but are PC and Xbox 360 gamers really going to run out and buy the same three games they've already got just for a shiny new box?
Perhaps if the DLC is on the disc it would be worth it, as it is always nice to have a hard copy, but otherwise it is essentially useless.

Now the 360 has NO good exclusives. What a shame.
Are Halo and Gears of War good? Serious question, I've never played either.

Neither. EA simply bought the rights OR it was a deal in exchange for Kinect functionality in ME3 or to make up for EA's losses when Microsoft leaked the ME3 beta last year. Publishing rights don't expire like that, especially since MS was the original publisherSanunes wrote...
You also have to remember that Mass Effect 1 was released in November 2007, so it could be that either the exclusivity to the xbox expired or Microsoft realized that allowing Mass Effect 1 (and the collection) will be a good way to make money, since it probably doesn't sell very well.
But regardless, at this point EA obviously controls 100% rights to ME1 so there shouldn't be any problems in future anymore. I expect ME Trilogy to get released on WiiU too at some point next year, and maybe even Vita too (since it would be easy to port it)

Also, Justin2k, I hope you're not trying to argue that because something SOLD better it makes it automatically a better game. If so we cans top complaining about ME3 because I'm sure its sold more than ME1 int he same time frame right?
A game selling millions is always a good thing, but it has no merit on how good or deep the story is by any stretch. A game being profitable is great, but it doesnt mean everyone will hold it in high regard.
For instance, I cant stand skyrim and it sold millions, but i love Dragons Dogma which didnt sell enar as many.

I simply said MS has beaten Sony in the console wars. Which it has. It has sold more consoles and MS exclusives Halo, Minecraft and GoW have heavily outsold Heavy Rain, Uncharted etc.

*snip*
The AdBox 360 is basically a subscription-based poor's man PC without games at this point, and the 720 will be the same but with a 2000% more Kinect and Justin Bieber in the dashboard.
Meanwhile, WiiU and PS4 will have Zelda, Pokemon, Mario, Platinum Games, Naughty God, Team ICO, Sucker Punch, Guerrilla Games, Santa Monica...
Deal with it.
...PC beats all dude

Can the difference of 4+/- 5 million consoles in a 60+ millionc onsole battle really be declared a resounding winner?
I dont believe so, its not like last gen where the PS2 was far and away the leader.
and sure halo and GoW have outsold games like heavy Rain. you're comparing apples and oranges my friend. Thats like declaring CoD outsold Tales of Graces Xillia or something. Two completely different types of metrics there.
and if you want to get into consoles sold, Ninty has them BOTH beat really (even though I dont consider the Wii a real system....

Sure there is a winner between Sony and MS. Look at the sales figures for most multiplatform game. The Xbox outsells for the most part. Then you take the exclusives and the Xbox sells more. The comparison between Halo 4 and Heavy Rain is fair. You sell consoles on exclusive titles. I just read Minecraft360 shifted more copies than God Of War and they are two completely different metrics, one being a small arcade game and one a full price big name exclusive.
Then you look at the platform itself and the xbox sells more. You add in the monthly online fee for Xbox, and they'll have profited far more from the 360 than Sony did from the PS3.
Even go watch TV commercials for multiplatform game, it's almost ALWAYS a 360 advert with "exclusive gameplay features on xbox live... and also on ps3" at the end of it. If it were the other way round, PS3 owners would be declaring that the PS3 won the console war.
As for Nintendo, sure they sold the most units and the most games, but they weren't competing in nearly the same price bracket or the same audience.
