Well, there goes that idea. :/ It had never been answered until now, so I was hoping.
I guess it's the manual mute button as the last remaining solution for people who don't want to listen to the PC.
David Gaider is the lead writer though, not the project lead. He said earlier "I think I know what the answer would be." Would be means it's something that either hasn't been discussed yet, or it's something he hasn't been made aware of yet. I don't think it's a moot point and I don't think we should give up just because the lead writer doesn't think it will happen.

Would be meant what awnser you would get if you did ask the project lead, not that it hadn't come up. We are definitly geting a voiced PC in DA3.BrotherWarth wrote...

It's come up before several times. It's likely he read it and forgot about or dismissed it as it's been in threads he's posted in.

Everyone knows we're getting a voiced PC. Read the thread title though. The question was whether we could turn the voice off via a game function if we preferred a silent PC.
There's been enough debate over the silent/voiced PC thing since DA2 that I was hoping the devs would throw us a bone, but aesthetics seem to be more important. Again. Seems to happen to every discussion I have any RP passion in.
Oh well.

The PC is still limited regardless, the only thing that changes is the illusion of it.

Does it matter? Yes.
Its a trick for player agency.
When I think of Shepard - I think of Mark Meer.
When I think of one of my wardens, no matter how different (Dwarf, Elf, Human), of think of them as me. Well, not me, but mine.
Don't underestimate the affect an illusion can have on a players enjoyment of a game.

What form that illusion takes shape as is sometimes the make or break factor in determining whether something falls too far outside of your preferences to want to try it.

So you don't mind a "Game" with 70% Movie and a 30% Game content?
