Or maybe some sort of reincarnation? Just wondering, since Orlais seems like his kind of place.

Maybe an NPC with a play on his name. I wonder if they'd get John Cleese to voice him if they brought him back (or a reincarnation of the character). Imagine he also says "Maker! I didn't expect the Inquisition!" to which the player can reply...

Exactly. It would be too perfect. And new Bioware fans deserve to meet this guy, he was awesome.

Given the nature of the Orlesian court I would no be surprised at all.

John Cleese must be in this game in one form or another.  This seems the perfect one.

That's the one thing  I am afraid of ...the temptation to make Orlais a foppish and ostentatious place will annoy me  no end!  I am kind of dreading the over-the -top voice acting as it is (would prefer people speak French and have subtitles for those who need them).

The culture of Orlais and Antiva as portrayed thus far in the series do not appeal to me. Perhaps I will feel differently once the game comes out.

Lord Flashheart from Black Adder would fit the bill. He'd be all over Orlais.

[swoon]
Seriously, though, I don't want or expect them to do this with the whole of Orlais.  That would suck.  I just want one guy...one Cleese-ian nutjob (****** Cleese's voice) to make a whole bunch of us fall out of our chairs laughing.  Some comic relief, perhaps missable in a side room somewhere, that will reward us nosy folks for opening every door that opens.

THIS

I'm almost 100% positive we will come away with an idea that orlais is full of foppish, pretenious  idiots...of course beggaring the question how such a country became so powerful...

I would be happy with either the same character, or just Cleese voicing any character in DAI.

Oh yes please. That was the funniest Jade Empire moment. We could get an interesting conversation between Varric and Sir Roderick about their belovedly named weapons. :P

I played Jade Empire without having a single clue about any of the characters or who would be a party member. I have to say, there are no words to describe my disappointment when Sir Roderick turned out not to be one :(

Well, putting the Jade Empire in the same world of Thedas would only result in chaos and fanboys/girls asking for a nonsensical crossover. That said, an orlesian noble complaining about being stuck in a land of weird savages with comical dances and love for a green stone instead of gold would be most hilarious. Specially if he mentions one of them kicked his arse and took his beloved weapon.
