The Murder Knife: The Knife in The Room (Murder Knife Interrupts in DA3)

"But Maclimes," I hear you say, "What if it's dialogue that occurs while the protagonist is not present, such as when Loghain hires Zevran?" Well, smarty-pants, upon pressing the space bar the protagonist would kick in the door, look around the room for his target, then murder knife!
"Okay, Mr Clever, what if you accidentally pressed space bar while the protagonist is talking?" Then it gets postumhously renamed the "suicide knife". Bam!

After seeing the Murder Knife videos, I want to play Origins again. That's going to put me in the wrong frame of mind for DA3:I. I just know it.

Murder Knife Interrupts please!
I don't want any interrupts in DA3. I hate having to be on the edge of my seat with my mouse finger primed during an entire cutscene (some of which go on and on) just in case an interrupt that lasts for less than 2 seconds demands my intervention.
I mean, conversations should be a respite from the hair-trigger adrenaline of combat. I have to accept it in ME because it's an RPG/shooter hybrid, but I don't think DA would benefit similarly.

I hope we get to interact more with our Murder Knife this time and even give it a name and customize it somewhat. For example you get to sharpen it in your tent and choose what sheath you want to use on it.
Ooooohh.. I like. Customizable Murder Knife.

The Murder Knife is always a reliable and trusty companion. We never have to worry about it turning on us like that scum Anders, Leliana, or Fenris!
What we really need is companion quests for this magical item. I'd love to explore the origins behind it.
Also, some responses in this thread make me wonder if this board has a bunch of sociopaths in here.

It'd definitely make for a more interesting way to skip through a conversation at least...

I wonder who in the Bioware office twiddles their fingers together and thinks these scenarios up.

I had the pleasure of using the Murder Knife on Genitivi today...first time I chose that option, and it was hilariously awesome. Especially Wynne's rebuke afterward.
That part is pretty gruesome. You basically see nothing but the hilt of the blade it's so deep in his skull...

Ok, that may sound like it's coming from a sadist jerk, but I have to say that murdering innocent people like the elf in Ostagar and Brother Genitivi cracked me up.

While there was not alot of murder knife kills in DA2, the ones in DA2 where far more grusome.franciscoamell wrote...
The murder knife was certainly one of my favorite features of DA, and I was disapointed there wasn't as much chances to use that feature in DA2 as there was in DAO.

Plus Archer hawke uses the murder knife in her melee attacks

Yeah, they were badass, but murder knife is one of the few things that is more about the quantity and less about the quality. I would never call my most murderous Hawke a psychotic murderer, while I could call my most murderous warden that easily.Mr.House wrote...

He's not innocent. He had good intentions but he was blinded by his devotion to the Sacred Ashes.
If pilgrimages rolled through the shrine, how many shady people would be going to exploit that power for their own ambition? He needed to be silenced for Fereldan's greater good. An unfortunate death but some sacrifices must happen. Some things are best kept secret...
Anyways, DAO mostly made me feel like an ass running around with the knife. It was like somebody at Bioware decided they wanted some sadistic way to deal with situations. Not that I'm complaining because some are pretty hilarious...in an evil kind of way...
DA2 didn't make me feel like half as much of an ass. Maybe because they just didn't have as many situations with the knife.

Easiest way to beat the game then and should give birth to some strange scenarios...
Cassandra: "Inquisitor I love you.."
*makes love with the Inquisitor*
Cassandra: "That was..."
*murder knife'd*
Cassandra: "But..."
This all takes place while she is lying in bed with The Inquisitor BTW.

I was going to ask for pausable dialogue, but that works, too.Maclimes wrote...

On topic: We definetly need more murder knife moments in DA3. The holy knife of murder needs blood.
