Who is not going to buy this unless it gets excellent user reviews?

I've read so much that Bioware have had their last chance with their last two games and the way they treat the fanbase, and yet everyone on this board is acting like none of that happened.

Pff, I just bet half the people saying their waiting for reviews for the game will instantly pre-order after the first trailer comes out and this is coming from someone who doesn't like the current direction.

No, reviews mean nothing to me. DA3 could get great reviews or terrible reviews and that has no bearing on my own opinion formed about my own experience. My gaming standards are unreasonably high, and there is little to no chance that some game journalist (or other users!) is ever going to meet them. I will make my own assessments after thoroughly experiencing the game first hand.

No. I don't let other people form my opinions for me. I make my own. I'll watch development and if I like it, I'm going to buy it. If I don't like the direction, I'm not going to buy it. That simple really. I don't need reviews from any critic/user to make my purchase...

I'm here because I'm actually enthusiastic. ME3 was a great game with a mediocre opening and a horrible ending, as far as I'm concerned, no reason not to buy another great game next time out, as severe as those flaws were. DA2's failings, which were much more serious imo, have all pretty much been addressed as things that will be reverted in spirit and improved upon from DA:O (except for the non-committal to origins and races so far, still waiting), so that's got me excited. I'm not bothered with whether I trust EA or not (haven't for years and years, nothing new), but rather specifically what information is being released about the game, and so far I like most everything I hear.

edit: And what FemaleMageFan said. I can't wait for Beyond: Two Souls.

Will probably preorder. Everything I have heard so far has been positive with the exception of the inclusion of multiplayer.

After the shambles that was Mass Effect 3, no, I don't think I'll be buying Dragon Age III. Of course IGN will give it an obligatory 9/10, but they're on the payroll ..... allegedly. BioWare want to make a great RPG no doubt, but EA won't let them. Everything needs to appeal to the mainstream, and if it doesn't sell 5 million it will be a failure.

(Frank Gibeau said this about Dead Space 3, correct figures, not terminology with regards to "failure", lol, 5 million, I guess the shareholders want a big payout, Dead Space 1 & 2 were already successful, greed I tell ya, will be the bane of the videogame industry).

I'm inclined to pre-order, but I'll probably wait to see some gameplay videos first.

Really liked DA:O, and overall I enjoyed DA2.

I love bioware, and make no mistake, I'm excited and fully expecting a good experience, but the faith's been broken due to both Dragon Age 2 and Mass Effect 3 - the latter of which was a great game but for the ending, but still suffered horribly from being a rushed job, and could have been so much more. So I'll be watching closely, but I'm not going to be buying blind. I'll probably just watch combat videos though, rather than pay too much attention to reviews.

Same here!  ... But from Gamestop, I pre-ordered DA2 collectors' edition from ea and got standard edition.  Image IPB Complained for a while but it seemed like no one cared.

I'll wait and see how it goes. At the very least I'm going to need to watch the ending before buying...

Its Dragon Age......

I will ignore reactions/reviews until I can actually play it myself. Knowing that the ME3 endings were bad kinda dimished the overall experience for me. From now on I'd prefer to go in blind as much as possible.

Personally I'll wait until I've heard feedback from other gamers and my friends before I consider buying it. The last two games I've pre-ordered were good games overall but they had glaring flaws. Flaws that make me worry for their future. Dragon Age II was clearly rushed and lacked development time. The debacle surrounding the Mass Effect 3 ending speaks for itself.

I won't lie and say I'll not be tempted if the game looks great. I certainly will. But handing over my money on trust alone is foolhardy when I have doubts. I want to be proven wrong, believe me, and if I am I'll happily buy a new copy. It just won't be on faith this time.

I'm holding off on pre-ordering pending confirmation about a few things, but my decision to purchase the game has absolutely nothing to do with reviews.

No need for that Maria, I've always been respectful to you.

I just remember so much ****ing and complaining and suddenly it's all "take my money" again without any real resolution to the original complaints.  If people keep unquestionably buying products, then complaining when they don't get what they wanted, but then buy the next product, it's a cycle which will go on and on until one day ended by synthesis control or destroy.
