Chances are that few people are going to wine and complain, then when BioWare releases more footage, content, or leaks from ign, thous few are going to change their minds as is the ones that didn't complain. Then come the release date, a great majority of this forum is getting the game at the midnight (me included). So, yea everyone is going to but this regardless. It'll just be the first week BioWare will focus on and see if the fans love it or free extended DLC and mulitplayer stuff for us fans. So yea, everyone is going to get the game, regardless.

I've read so much that Bioware have had their last chance with their last two games and the way they treat the fanbase, and yet everyone on this board is acting like none of that happened.

Bioware would have to actually mug me to get my portraits of the Queen out of my wallet. I can find plenty of other things to spend money on.  if and until they come up with something that enough of my friends like that I'm willing to try.

I will buy it, probably through pre-order. Bioware has never done me wrong. I enjoy their games, and I am invested in this series.

Will wait and see before parting with my money. I'm very patient and there're plenty of other games out there.
The MP aspect alone is enough to make me mega-leery.

I never said (well "typed" would be the right word) "everyone," I just said majority or few.  I am well aware of the fact not everyone is going to do what I predeict.  I said that this is what I "think" is going to happen, with the "minority" first and then the "majority."  Again, I never said "everyone."

That's quite the claim. I think there are some who are just done with BW altogether. (I'm not one of those.) That contradicts the claim of "everyone".

Sorry, didn't see that, allow me to rephrase it.
"So yea, a great majority is going to get the game, regardless."
It was just easier type that way, my bad.

It isn't time to decide.

Bioware has disappointed me 2 games in a row... ME3 and DA2... to be honest, there were signs coming from ME2, but it ended up being a great game anyways. They keep getting further and further away from the "I am the hero" paradigm that made DA1 and ME1 and 2 great.

That said, I'm willing to give 'em one last shot. Hopefully they learned from the outrage that was ME3 and DA2, and they get back to their roots. If the news that comes out sounds promising, it'll get it's rotation as usual.

So I'll reverse the question about people not buying under any circumstances:

If you plan on preordering DA3 under any circumstances, on what do you base this decision?

To vote with my vallet, I like Thedas and the dragon age universe and I wish to see a dragon age 4. Naturally I will have to buy dragon age 3.

I am currently apprehensive about the whole inqusitor thing, but I love the universe so I am playing the game once no matter what, so I might as well pay the full price.

Honestly I don't trust anyone's opinion, but my own for I like things for different reasons then others, a big example this summer is I hated most of the movies released, while people I knew liked them all. With that said I will probably eventually buy Dragon Age 3, but I am still unsure if I will pre-order or not, I need to see more information first.

That I see enough in advance of DA3 to understand what direction Bioware have taken things in (and that I don't violently disagree with it), that I'm comfortable they've resolved the critical gameplay and stylistic issues of DA2 (and preferably a number of minor ones as well), and that I'm comfortable that the game will not prioritise cinematic storytelling or gameplay streamlining over player agency.

The less that the game looks and feels like DA2, the more positive I'll be about it.

For context, this is from the perspective of a massive DA:O fan (and Bioware fan, for that matter) who has been staunchly critical of...well...just about all of the major changes in DA2 from about 2 hours after starting to play it. I felt badly burned from pre-ordering DA2, so the bar to restoring my confidence in the franchise enough to pre-order again is very high.

Metacritic?

Thats nothing more than the opinion of trolls.

If you were like me and worried about Dragon Age II, you can relax. It’s
not quite the same game, but where it’s different it is better. If you
are a fan of CRPGs and don’t mind some familiar looking dungeons, Dragon
Age II is an excellent buy.

***
The best RPG combat ever. Not gaming's best story, but maybe its best storytelling. Darker, sexier, better.
***
Every modification to the gameplay and structure of Dragon Age 2  is a clear improvement over the previous game. The combat is more
responsive and bloody, you don’t need to fight the inventory system
anymore, and
conversations are more engaging thanks to the adapted Mass
Effect wheel.

***
...IGN, PC Gamer and so on.  No, thank you, I think I prefer trolls.

I'm fully invested to the universe of Dragon Age. I will enjoy the game even if it's merely good (like DA2) instead of great (like DAO). So yeah, I'll preorder the collector's edition.

If it starts looking catastrophically bad when they start flooding the internet with promotional material, I might cancel my preorder but that's not likely. I'm convinced that even at its worst DA3 will still be better than an average RPG on the market.

I'll probably wait to see how Inquisition is. I'd say that, from what I've heard about so far, a lot about the third Dragon Age game seems to follow the pattern of Dragon Age II, and that game wasn't to my tastes. I'm not fond of how the paraphrasing was handled, I dislike the auto-lines, the automatic companion armor seems odd to me because it makes valuable armor worthless when my protagonist can't use it, and being a member of an organization named after the proto-templars makes me wary.

On the other hand, the fact that it seems as though the protagonist can be a mage - including a blood mage - and that it'll have an impact on the storyline is making me keep an open mind, even though there's a lot of cons for me about the third game thus far. I'm inclined to purchase if the Inquisitor is a proactive protagonist who won't be railroaded down a specific path, who can actually stop dangerous people right in front of him instead of mimicking furniture, and who will be able to make a difference or turn the tide for the Mage-Templar War.

The 'critics' of DA2 have for the most part hated anything BioWare from day one and were just gleeful to actually finally have a case to bash one of their games.  Most of these critics bashed DAO, ME1, ME2 etc etc.

Really? How very odd.

I loved BG and BG2. I liked NWN's take on multiplayer. I did not like Jade Empire. I liked ME. I liked DA:O. I felt ME2 was over-simplified. DA:A was a rush-job. DA2 was terrible. Reviews and general reception has kept me from ME3.

You are talking nonsense.

I actually find metacritic user reviews very helpful. Not by looking at the average score but by reading the reviews that are voted most helpful. Although Amazon tends to have better user reviews so i prefer it.

It's going to have to get really good word-of-mouth reviews before I even consider throwing down the money. After seeing how many game sites EA has under it's control from the DA2 and ME3 reviews, I'm not trusting them ever again when it comes to Bio games.

I'm of two minds. On the one hand I was hit really hard by ME3's ending, on theother hand, both the EC DLC and Leviathan soothed the pain a bit and while DA2 certainly was an inferior game compared to DAO, I still enjoyed it and loved some of the characters.

Now there was the news about the 2 doctors leaving the company , followed by the first news about DA3.

Part of me really just wants to preorder the game, but the calmer more rational part will wait until I see fans reaction and since if the game is good, I'll want all the extras, I'll probably wait until the Collctors edition is offered in a sale somewhere before I buy it. I never bought many games upon being published. ME3 really destroyed the faith I had in BW to preorder their games, so I'll hold myself back and wait.
