Anyone putting their money where their mouth is?

I've read so much that Bioware have had their last chance with their last two games and the way they treat the fanbase, and yet everyone on this board is acting like none of that happened.
I imagine many have moved on and just don't give a *bleep* I sold ME3 and have no intention of buying DA3 unless word of mouth from people I trust tell me its great. Ironic because the people I trust aren't planning on touching anything Bioware shoves out. So chances are

I didn't buy ME3.
I won't buy this even if the reviews are great, unless Origin is also gone.
I've stood by my word before and I'll do it again without any regret.

This. Yes, I hated the ending to ME3. But the DA franchise springs from different minds and, while I certainly found plenty of flaws in DA2, it was a fun game. DA:O stands as my favorite game, ever. And I'm having a blast with SWTOR. BioWare may be inconsistent but they're still better than just about anyone else at what they do, which is tell stories that keep me coming back to their games.Imperium Alpha wrote...
Already pre-ordered in my mind. I've got cash to burn and no matter how disappointing some aspect may be BioWare games are superior to 95% of every games released on the market in recent years.

These are two different questions.
"Anyone putting their money where their mouth is?" Yes, I am.
"Who is not going to buy this unless it gets excellent user reviews?" Certainly not me.

One word: Hype. Speaking only for myself, I'll not make the same mistake twice because of hype.Justin2k wrote...

No need for that Maria, I've always been respectful to you.
I just remember so much ****ing and complaining and suddenly it's all "take my money" again without any real resolution to the original complaints. If people keep unquestionably buying products, then complaining when they don't get what they wanted, but then buy the next product, it's a cycle which will go on and on until one day ended by synthesis control or destroy.

And while I do mean that partly in a snarky, "have you come to enlighten the poor deluded fools" way, I also really want to know. You're on a board for a game in which you are not interested and which you intend never to purchase or play. Why waste your time coming here at all?

I've pledged no such thing. I've said I won't buy games that fit a certain criteria. It's unfortunate that they've been making such games.legbamel wrote...
Question, for those of you who have pledged to never again spend a dime or a minute's time on another BioWare game: why are you here?
I stay because there are some folks here that I genuinely enjoy talking to.

Most of them will buy it despite their claims otherwise. This has happened time and time again, with Bioware titles and video games in general. Consumers often try to leverage their intent to buy to get more of what they want. And when it doesn't work, they still choose to buy the product they had hoped to exert influence over. I'm sure there will be some who say "No, I really mean it!!" but for the most part, I think you can count on many "boycotters" to buckle and end up buying the games they said they never would.

I think a lot of current critics genuinly want to be proven wrong and won back. I don't plan to buy any games until I've seen enough of both the gameplay and story to know for sure that it's something that I'll be able to enjoy, which I'd love to be the case. I'm only ruling out Bioware if they continue to utilise certain elements which I don't like.legbamel wrote...

I still like the forums here (mostly off-topic and some of the people here. I didn't know unwavering love for a product was a requirement to be here.
