Question, for those of you who have pledged to never again spend a dime or a minute's time on another BioWare game: why are you here?

And while I do mean that partly in a snarky, "have you come to enlighten the poor deluded fools" way, I also really want to know. You're on a board for a game in which you are not interested and which you intend never to purchase or play. Why waste your time coming here at all?

I still like the forums here (mostly off-topic and some of the people here.  I didn't know unwavering love for a product was a requirement to be here.

Unwavering?  Certainly not.  But I'm not asking people who are skeptical and waiting to see what's in the offiing.  I'm asking the people who proudly proclaim that they won't, under any circumstances, even consider buying any other BioWare product in their lives.  Why come to the forum for a new one to tell the people who are considering it that they aren't?  Wouldn't their absence speak louder than words, as they say?

In other words, what do they get out of it?  I don't like a lot of games but I don't go to their homes and tell their players how stupid they are.  I have better things to do with my time, like come up with more ideas for the rediculous requests thread.  :wizard:

oh they will make their empty threats and still buy the game when it comes out (most likely will preorder it as well) and then they will play maybe ten minutes of it and then come on to the bsn and whine about how much they hate it and how bioware is dead to them until the next bioware game comes out and they will threaten not to buy the game and then buy the game and complain about it and make the same threats and repeat the same cycle over and over again.

I will be waiting in line to pre-order. I liked DAO and DA2. I pre-ordered both of them. So I will be pre-ordering the Collector's edition for DA3. I do not let reviews dictate what I will or will not buy.

I'm still here because of friends who I have on here. Also I'm still here because I won't let a game company get away with this complete and utter Bull Crap that they did to ME3 and will continue to do to any other game they come out with. Streamlining of the games, destroying the ending of a game series just because they could. If you think people who are upset with BW and their business practices will just go away you better get a clue. Those who are upset and hate BW for what they've done in the past are the ones who will yell the loudest and continue to complain in every forum they can find until their voices are heard.

Meaning BW has had to shut down several threads attacking them already and they will continue to do so because they don't want to hear it. They don't want to read it. They only want so called constructive criticism. We gave them that and they still slapped us in the face with the EC and now Leviathan. So we continue to yell and continue to complain but we don't give contstructive criticism anymore. We just give complaints and complain all the time because they refuse to see reason.

Blind loyalty and blind love for a company isn't the only reason people gather onto forums.

Loved DAO so much, was willing to buy DA2 on day one.

Reverse of that, for DA2/3.

How is this post constructive? While I have disagreeded with Heather alot on certain things, she is right on somethings and comments like yours just make things worse. People have the right to voice their feelings on a product and as long as it's not spam, personal insults or lies I don't see why they can't. Just because you don't agree does not mean you make non constructive post like lol so angry. it does nothing except trying to stir up a argument.

Yes I will buy it and it's likely I will pre-order. If it turns out to be like ME3 then I will be done with BioWare.

I was sceptical of DA2 when I first heard of it... instantly pre-ordered Collector's Edition. Enjoyed the game quite a bit.

Will do same for DA3.

My reasoning? The game can only be so bad (if it does turn out that way) and there's bound to be something I like about it.

More or less everything they ever said about DA II pre-release I disliked. First screenshots came, I thought they looked horrible. Then EAs marketing department and button-awesome guy did their utmost to make me feel too embarrassed and mature to play video games ever again. Eventually the demo came. It played like PS2 hack n slash game and looked like ****.(< - Not using the said word in context of the common rather unconstructive expression. Opening scene of the game literally looks like ****. )
and YET!!! I went to store and bought it. I knew chnages I'd manage to like it were slim. Still angry at myself for it. This time around I follow me heart better!

Just reading the posts on this board, I have the nagging feeling that DA3 is going to be another disaster. So yeah, I won't be buying unless it gets excellent user reviews. I don't need another Mass Effect 3.

Anybody still preordering despite knowing how poor this game might be is the cause of mediocre games. So long as you let EA get away with it, they'll make poor games.

I'm preordering. Twice for myself. Then I'll buy everyone I know a copy for that Christmas. That ought to take care of six or seven of you who have nothing nice to say. Already.

I've read so much that Bioware have had their last chance with their last two games and the way they treat the fanbase, and yet everyone on this board is acting like none of that happened.

Going to do as I always do. Hear what the users on metacritic has to say. Read Rock, Paper, Shotgun. Buy a copy together with six of my friends if it seems to be good and check it out. Then, if I like it, I'll buy my own copy.

That was how I bought ME, ME2 and DA:O, and any other game I've bought the past six or seven years.

heh I'm too proud to send back what I paid for. I liked DAO and DAII in different ways and I will be buying the next DA game because, even when I don't LOOOVE a BioWare game, I still enjoy it immensely. It's not like the market is swimming with decent medieval fantasy RPG games. So I will still buy it and see for myself if I like it. I usually don't agree with most reviews anyway. If it is total crap, I'll write a blog about it and post incessantly on a round robin of facebook, twitter, tumblr, blogspot, you tube and here in addition to trolling every article comment section about the game. I'm sure my displeasure will eventually be understood. ^_^

User reviews are just as biased as professional reviews I write. The difference is that I know how to restrain myself and be fair, which is more than I can say for most reviewers out there, both professionals and users.

So no, user reviews don't matter. And to prove my point, I'll make a bet with you now. I will bet that once the game is released it will have an artifically low score because its BioWare and EA, and because people are that cynical and stupid to bash the game without even playing it.

I have 40ish hours logged into DA2 and I thoroughly enjoyed it, the user reviews would have me believe the game was garbage. So I'll get get DA3 sometime(too poor for releasee day buys) regardless of what the vocal minority decrees.

Reviews don't mean a thing to me when it comes to Bioware games. If I had read any reviews about DA 2, I might not have bought it. And that would have been a damn shame, because I loved it. Just as I loved DA:O, ME 1, ME 2, ME 3 (though that one killed me), KotoR 1 & 2 and Jade Empire. In other words, I have enjoyed virtually every Bioware game I've ever owned. I have no reason to believe that DA 3 will be any different.

It's a definite CE pre-order for me. (If the version available in german shops contains english audio and text as well, that is. I refuse to play with german audio. *shudder*)
Granted, I might have to starve for a month or two, but hey, worth it.

I will get Dragon Age 3 on release day. Most of their games I have done that with. I trust them. Now I held off getting Mass Effect 3 for a little bit and I am sad to say I am just now getting the Old Republic. I have never played a game from them that I didn't love.

Because of my work I couldn't really sink into ME3, and I kind of wanted to play the entire triology in one go, so I had to wait until the summer before I played it. needless to say, the entire ending dabacle reached me as well, so I was quite happy to wait it out - and with the EC, I think it turned out well.
That means I kind of treated everyone else as test pilots - everyone who played ME3 before June cleared the way for me, and for that I am so grateful. No really - I never experienced the 'bad' ending, only the 'meh' ending.

And that is what I will do with DA3 - wait until I see what kind of manure storm it will whip up before I buy it. And there will be a storm, of that I have no doubt ('There's no Cullen!' 'Not enough sex!' 'My gay protagonist cant bone anyone he likes!' 'I wanna play as the Warden!' 'The graphics sucks!' Whine cry, whine... Yes, I know how the Bioware fans work).

LOL.  Same here.  There will always be the same stupid complaints, but user reviews (taken with a hefty grain of salt) are handy.  I'll probably do the same as you once DA3 ships.

I'll find someone else who has the game and borrow it first. Then I'll decide whether or not I'll buy my own. I blindly bought DAII after finishing DA:O and regretted the waste of money within an hour of starting the game. Since then I've been testing games before buying.

There are two things that could still convince me to preorder: a release date in Q4 2015 or later so I can be absolutely certain I won't get a rush job this time, and/or an open letter from Bioware explaining their design philosophy behind DA3 that clearly emphasizes the need to restore player agency to DA:O levels as well as a few other things that I really need to hear from them.

Aside from those two things, I don't care how pretty the trailer looks or how excited everyone is about the game. I'm a student, I don't have the cash to spare on games that aren't worth it.

Preorder maybe not, depending on my available personal time (haven't even finished DA2, yeah, shoot me), but hope dies last, if we don't count DA2 as a worthwhile sequel (I would more call it a spin-off of some sort of DA:O), then probably DA3 can be the REAL DA2 (given the proper development time it requires to produce a full fledged CRPG).
