My offer still stands, regardless. I will bet money that the user reviews will be artificially low regardless of the game's quality.

After all, I've heard that this time around (I may be wrong) that EA is giving Bioware a lot of cash and Bioware has free reign over the game this time. All EA is doing is funding it.

And where did you hear this rumour my good man? Did you forget to take your medication and the magic juju fairies whispered it in your ear? Or are you just a kickass a spy or insider at EA who forgot to take his medication and the magic juju fairies whispered it in your ear?

I actually heard it here on the forums. It may be true or not, but I have not dismissed the possibility of it being true. I'm taking a wait-and-see approach. I won't judge the game and say how much Bioware is losing their edge or are in decline. If they are, the market will determine that. If they're not, the market will also determine that.

Same juju fairy that tells people that all BioWare games are going to such with no pre evidence whatsoever I would think.

Now now I am not saying that DA3 will "such", I am just implying it. No seriously I am giving the game a chance, I am eager to see what the DA team has to offer (which is why I am here after all) but given their track record I want to see something promising before even considering a purchase and unfortunately the "rumour" that "EA is giving Bioware a lot of cash and Bioware has free reign over the game this time" sounds like pure fan fantasy.

I will not preorder or buy this Game when it comes out. I will wait, read reviews from pros and our esteemed community here. Then i will wait a bit longer and buy it IF the reviews are good when the price goes down.

I had a few bouts of melodramatic nerdrage over the Mass Effect 3 endings, but this is a different team, and one that has never failed to deliver games that I have thoroughly enjoyed (that includes DA2). While I'm still a bit wary, I think I'm going to pre-order this if I like where the development is going.

Really? Because the critics of DA2 said the exact same thing about ME3 before it was released.

The 'critics' of DA2 have for the most part hated anything BioWare from day one and were just gleeful to actually finally have a case to bash one of their games.  Most of these critics bashed DAO, ME1, ME2 etc etc.

That's funny, cause before DA2, I remeber my only prior complaint about any of Bioware's games being some of the bugs in Awakening.  A lot of us are genuine fans of Bioware's past work.  Just unhappy with their most recent releases.

Profezzionals will give it artificially high score and users will give it artificially low score. Piracy is bad and even if demo is "meh" I should buy the game, becouse "it is only a demo. Full game will be awesome". PR and marketing tells me that I have Alzheimer, becouse I should not remember what happened in last game. And who cares anyway, becouse this new game has 100% more booms, boobs and butts.

After that I should make educated decision.

And I'm sure some people will give it free 10/10.

Beside ME2 and DAO got good fan reviews, mostly, so I'm sure if DA3 is good it can survive it.

Just avoid Metacritic.  That's where most of the review bombing happens.  On Gamespot, the average user review for DA2 on PC is 7.3, which is pretty reasonable.

I think I will preorder unless this game shows no improvement on level design and gameplay comparing to DA2. User reviews are mostly opinionated and I wont waste my time to dig useful info from a bunch of rants.

If I decide to look into DA3 and future BW games, I'll only decide to buy or not after reading extensive fan reviews, AND watching a lot of user game footage online. I did this for SWTOR since I had really wanted to play it but I don't play PC games and ME3 had already been out for a long time. I made sure SWTOR wa a game I would like before I played it, and I've been playing ever sice. DA3 will be the first time a BW game has been announced and I just don't care one way or another. It might as well be farmville 2.0 for all I care. It's kind of weird, I used to follow the latest release years or months in advance looking for every scrap of info and preorder the game or buy it at the midnight release.

Yeah, I don' put much weight on user reviews. Especially not lately. I follow the development and if something unexpected appears that makes me hesitate I'll hold off on getting the game. But right now I see no reason not to preorder DA3.

I keep throwing my money at the screen and accidently swallowed a quarter that bounced off. Does that count?

I'm buying it. Unlike many on the BSN, I still have a tremendous amount of faith in BioWare.

I wasn't really referring to metacritic which just seems to be a place to troll games you haven't played yet. If you read Gamefaqs user reviews, or even just look at the score page, you usually end up with a fair representation of how people liked it.

No. You need to call EAs accounting department. They will tell you how to send your wage directly to them. Then you are true fan.

I almost never look at Metacritic user reviews/scores, because many of the users aren't trying to score the game with their honest opinion, but simply scoring in order to alter the average score of a game. It's hard to take any review seriously that only uses a few sentences and gives a score of 3 or below to a game that isn't riddled with BOTH severe design and technical issues.

Not to say that there aren't any honest and well thought-out reviews on Metacritic; they just unfortunately get lost amidst the surrounding vitriol.

Regardless, if it's a game or franchise that I already have experience with and enjoy, I often try to avoid reviews so that it doesn't prime me with any sort of expectations. I know from experience that if I read a review that highlights negative elements within a game, I will unconsciously focus on those elements when I play that game, and ultimately sour my experience.

Same. I want the super-duper collector's edition with all the shinies, and I'll likely get two copies. ^_^

How about the fact that the only thing you know about this game is the name? Seriously what is it about this game that you feel justifies a pre order at this point? Are you just pretending to be stupid to troll me? Even if you for some strange reason enjoyed Dragon Age 2 and Awakening (which were honestly pretty crap) you still dont know anything about this game, I would think that alone would be reason enough for any sane man to stay his wallet.

Given that I pledged more toward Project Eternity and Wasteland 2 than I have paid for all of the Dragon Age and Mass Effect games combined, I think I'm doing just that.

If the person has a history of preordering Bioware titles without disappointment, when why not?  As we can see above people have no trouble at all throwing large sums of money at Kickstarter projects that show even less simply because they like the people involved.

I Totally agree. Before DA2 I had never said anything bad about a Bioware game. But trying to hit something in super slow motion while getting clobbered 5 or 6 times makes you think differently.Especially when Bioware took 4 months to fix the problems. As for ME3, I have always said it was a very good (not great) game.Certainly it didn't have the technical and fuctional flaws that DA2 had. But it didn't desrve 75 perfect scores, either. Somehow,Bioware has turned one of the most loyal, rabid fan base in all of gaming and polarized it as much as American politics.:(

There will be ample reason to preorder and ample reasons for people to get upset about it. Like just about every other pre order from games the last few years there will be a companion or quest, or weapon or all of the above as incentive.

As for people that are very upset at this....i hope to hell none of them have contributed to kickstarter for the new obsidian game lest they look very foolish.

Im pre-ordering it.
Screw reviews. I could have a different opinion.
I'll judge it for myself.
