I heard there will be a ps3 version of the game which is at first a great news:innocent: but what interest is there in doing a game in which the decisions made cannot be taken in account in the second game as there's already a comics that gave us the opportuity to make these decisions ?

First, if you're talking about the trilogy (which I've only just found out about in another thread) then I think it's likely that it'll have the import ability those of us on PC and XBox have always had. If so then Genesis will become obsolete as you'd be importing the played game decisions. Secondly, Genesis did not give you the opportunity to make all the ME1 decisions - it was six or seven and it misses out everything from an entire plot world. I'd ditch it and play the game instead, though exactly when that'll be is another question - I notice that while PC/XBox is only weeks away there's not even a vague date given for a PS3 release.

I'm pretty sure that you will be able to import your ME1 save file to ME2 with all your in-game decisions.
It wouldn't make sense for them to finally create ME1 on PS3 without the option to import your save file to ME2.
...and if you really think there is no point to playing the actual game over just using the comic book feature...then that's crazy to me. I would much rather play the actual game instead of using the comic book feature.

I'm more interested in knowing if there's going to be a single release of ME1 or do I have to buy the bundle to get it.

I think it's available separately for digital download.

Yes, it should be available in the bundle and for download on the PSN

Pardon my ignorance to the concept of porting but will the game function basically like an emulator. Game or will they have to rebuild it in assembly code? I just bought a ps3 not blong ago and the graphics are awesome. That being said I dusted off my me1 on the xbox and was shocked at how crappy my favorite game looked compared to the other 2. What are the odds the ps3 version will look better and more polished?

apparently it is being overhauled using ME2 engines and graphic etc and the digital download is confirmed with these improvements for the PS3 release only so far.No release date has been given but the digital download will be released the same day as the Trilogy will for PS3.
But what i want to know is for the Digital Release on the PSN, will the two big dlc's be released as well for ME1?

me two,,,^ , but ive read no DLCs included in the trilogy so im assuming the mass effect 1 from the psn will have no DLCs I personally think they will be available as the game is available to buy from psn, or hopefully free DLC with mass 1 purchases ,

I thought Bring Down the Sky was going to be on the disc for those buying the set when it comes out. If so, and as it's free DLC these days anyway to those of us on PC and XBox, I'd expect it to be available to download for the PD3 users too. Pinnacles Station as well I guess as it's paid content and something that they can make an extra few dollars on, though it's not universally loved and I get the feeling as many never bothered to buy it as did and enjoyed it.
BTW, not sure about ME2 getting an overhaul to use the ME2 engine. Everywhere I've seen says that all three Mass Effects all used the same engine in the first place. Unlike the mildly irritating changes of key functions from 1 to 2 (e.g. if you play 2 right after 1 you can spend the early levels sending a squadmate to hide in a corner when you try to talk to them because E does different functions) I don't imagine things change much between games on a console controller, so polishing up the graphics, fixing the ExoGeni, Consort and Conrad bugs, and maybe improving inventory management (*not* getting rid of it, just improving its management) is probably all you'd really want TBH. Changing the somewhat identikit mines, bunkers and buildings would add realism and be top of my wishlist ahead of any graphics improvement, but that's perhaps asking too much. Would be brilliant if it did though.

Thanks, interesting. It says it's the same engine as ME1, which backs up what I'd read elsewhere (including in these forums) that all three games used the same engine anyway. But the graphics have certainly had a big polish. Looks.... gorgeous. Damn, I'm getting slightly envious of you PS3 players now, but after the wait you've had for the present you deserve a little flashiness on the wrapping.

all of those screenshots in that article are from the 360 and PC version. Some are from the early e3 2006 Xbox version too. they havent showed off anything new.PsiFive wrote...

Looks a lot better than my PC. ME1 scenes but ME2 looks. XBox then? Or can ME1 look that good with a high end gaming computer?

I think the xbox version might have had better textures (at the expense of pop in) heres what ME1 used to look like during development on xbox
