I don't think I want to romance a corpse.

Asking for a Bethany romance since before DA2? I hope you're saying that you didn't expect the protagonist to be Bethany's sibling (though I don't know why one wouldn't know that even before DA2).

They did know the PC was going to be Bethany's sibling. Still wanted to romance her.

reminds me of the Imoen romance mod

Just tried it out of curiosity really Posted Image (it was also the only mod I found that allowed my female bhaalspawn a lesbian romance without changing alot of other things in the game)

Killing seems harsh. It isn't your fault that you were born with magical powers.

I almost always play mages in DA2 because I prefer the interaction with Carver.  Doesn't mean I don't like Bethany, but it makes for a more interesting dynamic.  Plus, I have two brothers in real life.  The relationship feels realistic to me.

The ogre killed Bethany in all my games, except when she lived and went to the Circle.  I feel great!!!

Also, this request is really unlikely, way too many variables for both siblings to guarantee they'll be alive for DA3.

Trust me, when I intentionally took her to the Deep Roads without Anders I *did* feel bad... But it needed to be done for the sake of Tyr's characterization.

I also need to do it again soon, because I lost Tyr's save files... I've been putting it off.

Also in terms of romancing Bethany, or Carver, there are too many variables. Death being the most likely one of all.

(*Chuckles*) While I'll never quite understand the nature of some to knowingly create a thread that *will* get locked eventually (especially in this case where the subject as nothing to do with DA3 -no guarentee we'll see Bethany-) this actually does raise an interesting question I saw brought up in a Reddit forum where the question/subject matter was handled (mostly) with maturity and Dragon Age 2's Female Sibling was used as an example.

Namely, could you have a Heroic Character, i.e. a man set on a classic Hero's Journey to save their world, land, city and so forth from a true evil or decimating event while, at the same time, having said Hero engaged in what would typically be seen as a very "UnHeroic" Taboo practice or relationship and still see said character as a Hero even if they do, in fact, evetually save their world, land, city, etc?

For Example, would Hawke have still been a Hero if he had taken his sister as a Love Interest (think Jamie and Cersei Lannister -sans unsavory schemes/machinations-)? Would an author, game, or RPG Developer ever have the courage to go that route without fear of being torn down in the media? i.e. Fox News and it's attacks on Mass Effect's "Love Scenes" as well as accusations of other games inspiring violent or antisocial/destructive activities.

What Questions would such a choice raise? Is it even viable? I would post a Link to the Reddit discussion but it was some time ago and I can not, for the life of me, find the bloody thing.

While Bethany is one of my favorites, i don't hold it against Bioware that there will be no such thing, Bethany's possible fates are too differentiated to incorporate her in a significant way.

Mage is my go-to class in DA2. I'd rather put up with Carver.

You know, I think it would be an interesting thing to see such a taboo in a game like Dragon Age. On one hand because I'm a sucker for 'forbidden love' and would love to see what kind of character elements the possibility of an incestous relationship could add to the game and on the other hand because I'd be eagerly awaiting the ****storm that would inevitably follow.
(I've also read my fair share of FHawke/Bethany fanfics and some of them were really good... *cough*)

But alas, something like this will never happen. Considering how many people already raise hell when consensual, homosexual relationships are mentioned, imagine what would happen if it's about an incestous relationship (possibly also homosexual).
People would storm Bioware Headquarters with torches and pitchforks (and possibly burn them at the stake).

Technically it was the ogre. Or Bioware, since they didn't gave us the option to choose the sibling we want to save.

There's too much to consider for her return in DA3, & honestly I don't think it's worth the trouble.
