I don't care much. It's another character. I wouldn't have a problem romacing Bhelen or Fergus with a female Hawke, or a female Inquisitor.

Bethany can die on two different occasions and can be either a circle mage or a grey warden. With so many variables, it would be difficult to have her as a cameo yet alone a full blown love interest.

Would an author, game, or RPG Developer ever have the courage to go that route without fear of being torn down in the media? i.e. Fox News and it's attacks on Mass Effect's "Love Scenes" as well as accusations of other games inspiring violent or antisocial/destructive activities.

What Questions would such a choice raise? Is it even viable? I would post a Link to the Reddit discussion but it was some time ago and I can not, for the life of me, find the bloody thing.
    

You know, I think it would be an interesting thing to see such a taboo in a game like Dragon Age. On one hand because I'm a sucker for 'forbidden love' and would love to see what kind of character elements the possibility of an incestous relationship could add to the game and on the other hand because I'd be eagerly awaiting the ****storm that would inevitably follow.
(I've also read my fair share of FHawke/Bethany fanfics and some of them were really good... *cough*)

But alas, something like this will never happen. Considering how many people already raise hell when consensual, homosexual relationships are mentioned, imagine what would happen if it's about an incestous relationship (possibly also homosexual).
People would storm Bioware Headquarters with torches and pitchforks (and possibly burn them at the stake).

(*Laughs*) You're likely correct. Still, I would find it a fascinating route, if it could be done with some depth and meaning and not just smack of forbidden titalation. Speaking of, I've read some MHawke/Beth Fiction and, while I couldn't tell if your cough signaled sarcasm (sorry, sometimes I'm dense) in my experiance they were anything but "really good." Which is my point. The writer(s) would have to portray the romance as being based on genuine love and have it be emotionally healthy, not just "There wasn't anyone else to have sex with when we were young, so..." or "Wow, suddenly by sister is really hot..."

i would support  a Bethany Romance she wasa great  character to begin with  and this since Hawke and the warden have "disappeared" and it s not likely Bioware will be bring them back she could conceivably return as a mage (preferably) or a warden in search for her brother

Then become a LI and  after you to smite whatever the evil is you both continue the search and or settle down and live happily ever after <3

mostly, she ended up getting killed by an ogre.  not my fault, and i won't feel bad about it, mamma hawke.

when not, i liked making her a warden.  because she at least got a spine and started acting like a grown up woman.
