I think the easiest way of asking this question is to explain what I'm trying to do.
I want to make a set of medium armor that looks like the Heavy Armor A Item Variation, with the Silverite material. From what little I understand about the toolset, we cannot simply add a new item variation, so an old one has to be replaced. I chose Medium Armor E(the Ancient Elven set), since it is unique and not worn by any NPCs. Since Medium E and Heavy A use the same mesh, I just extracted the Hvy A texture, renamed it to the Med E texture, and dropped it in the override.
This worked... to a degree. The new texture showed up, but it used the default material tint(Iron, I believe). Changing it doesn't change the look. I think this is because Med E doesn't change its color based on material... It just has one look, no matter what material it is made from.
So my question is this: Where do I change this? Is it a property I need to change? Is it stored in the actual mesh, or some other file?
Thanks.
What controls the material tint of weapon/armor?
