HI, I just wanted to know if anyone can help me with Dynamic Bonuses? You can find the information about them here
" Dynamic Bonuses are from things like your passives and weight capacity. So you could have 100% bonus total by having a 70% bonus from weight capacity, 10% from wearing certain armor, and 20% from your passive power. Note, this value is expressed as a floating point number so 50% = 0.5. 100% = 1.0. "

I was trying to figure out how gear bonuses factor into my Asari Adept's cooldown using this formula

Recharge speed (aka cooldown) use a formula called divide by bonus sum. The formula is as follows:

New Value = Base Value at Rank 1 * (1.0 / (1.0 + Sum of all rank bonuses + Dynamic Bonuses)) "

First, I tried to calculate what the cool down would be without the gear bonuses and just with my current rank upgrades to see if I got the same cool down as in the game (to make sure I am doing it right ), though I keep getting different numbers. I tried doing it for about an hour and I kept getting different numbers but I think I narrowed down the problem to the Dynamic Bonuses.

I don't know what exactly gets factored into the dynamic bonuses. I was factoring in her 200% cooldown weapon bonus plus the 30% from her Asari Justicar - rank 4 - bonuses and also the 30% weight reduction from rank six,  but this doesn't seem right to me

If anyone could help me with this it would help alot :3

Thank you for your time :wizard:

Dynamic bonuses in this case are cooldown bonuses that do not come from the power itself. In essence it doesn't matter as you sum all bonuses anyway. It is semantics.

I don't understand what you mean by getting different numbers.

Type out an example and maybe we can help you more specifically.

If I am not wrong, let's say Rank 2 Pull with nothing in passive... and 0 weapon bonus

New Value = 4*(1 / (1 + .25 + 0)) = 3.2s

Rank 2 Pull, 200% CD, 30% Rank4 Passive, 30% Weight Reduction

New = 4*(1 / (1 + 0.25 + (2 + .3))) = 1.13s

You don't get to count 30% weight reduction on top of a 200% CD bonus because it is already involved in getting to the 200% bonus. I do not believe you can exceed the 200% bonus from weight capacity vs total weight.

For example I was trying to figure out the exact cool down time for rank 2 warp with all passive upgrades. Rank 2 warp, 200% Cool Down, 30% Rank 4 Weight Reduction. So according to the formula, it would be :
New Value = 2.67 (1/ (1+.25 + ( 2 + .3))) = ? The answer I get is .75 ( rounded ) though that doesn't seem right
So its at this point that I get confused. Some questions I have are, for example ~
  • In the Asari Adept's Passive skills, she has a 30% weight reduction and then a 30% weight reduction for pistols. Do I count both of those ( as 60% ) if I only have a pistol?
  • Also, I was confused because you had said that we don't get to count 30% on top of a 200% cool down but I saw you factored it into the formula here

Would you mind clearifying that for me?

Also thank you so much for all your help, this is clearifying it for me :3 :wizard:

You are right, that is probably a mistake on my part.

New Value = BaseWarpCooldown [1 / (1 + RankBonus + DynBonus)]

Warp: Base CD 8s. Rank 2 Recharge Bonus: 25%
Asari Justicar: Rank 1 Capacity Bonus 10; Rank 4 Capacity Bonus 20 (30 total at this point); Rank 6 Pistol Weight Reduction 30.

Rank bonuses are from the specific power you are calculating the cooldown for, so in this case Warp. Rank 2 gives you the .25 bonus.

Dynamic Bonuses are basically everything else that can affect cooldown. Simply it would be the sum of your weapon weight bonus (aka Power Recharge Speed) and gear or consumables.

Power Recharge Speed starts at +200% for every character. Then you essentially subtract the weight of each weapon, and add the bonuses to weapon weight, capacity, and hidden racial capacity bonuses. Asari bonus is 30%. It doesn't matter though bc Power Recharge Speed is capped at 200%... but you can still add on gear or consumable bonuses supposedly, despite it making maybe trivial differences in game.

So I think how it should end up is really this:

New Value = 8 [ 1 / ( 1 + 0.25 + 2)] = 2.46s

You won't really see the benefit of the weight capacity perks unless you have a heavier gun than you have equipped... Which I assume is basically any pistol. I cheated and just used 200% since you didn't give me the exact weapon and told me what the game told you was the PRS. Whenever you are at 200% Power Recharge Speed you should not waste consumables or gear for more bonus because of diminishing returns... basically you are still getting an extra whatever% but it is nearly insignificant to the final number.

Say instead you had Carnifex X (weight is "70%") and Katana X ("90%")... You can calculate the Power Recharge Speed yourself... Base is 200% + 30% hidden Asari bonus. So:

PRS = 2.3 - 0.7 + 0.3 - 0.9 + 0.3 = 1.3 or 130%

Where 2.3 was the starting total bonus for an AA, 0.7 is for the Carni X, 0.3 is your pistol weight reduction from Rank 6, 0.9 was the Katana X, and 0.3 was weight capacity bonus from passive.

For Warp then you would get this:

New Value = 8 [ 1 / (1 + .25 + 1.3 )] = 3.14s

If I added on a Power Efficiency Module 3 ("30%" bonus) it would go to this:

New Value = 8 [ 1 / (1 + .25 + (1.3 + .3))] = 2.81s

As you can see, the module was added to the Power Recharge Speed number from above... making the Dynamic Bonus in this case 1.6.

At least all the above is how I understand it. If I am wrong about the PRS cap then that will change the numbers a little.

You might find this helpful:

As you select weapons, equipment and skills it will change the skills descriptions to show the new cooldowns including a breakdown of what is affecting it. Also lists the base weight capacity for each character and actual weights for each weapon.
