god did she dress in the dark because that makeup is way over the top, I've seen some really nice mods out there that do better makeup i wish bioware would look at those mods and see if they can come up with something new

I'll go with "Hadriana torture" theory personally. Must do a number on your self esteem.

Funny thing I thought the makeup on Morrigan and Leliana made them prettier so I didn't see a problem still don't in 2 IRL there are women who cake themselves in makeup with sometimes disastrous results it's a case of YMMV don't see why DA should be different.

All Aveline seems to have is a bit of lipstick. She does rock the head band tho'.

I liked Morrigan's makeup and Leliana would have looked too plain without hers. I'm hoping we get to see more elves with dalish tattoos in DA3

Morrigan and Leliana were fine with their makeup. But yeah, some characters were ridiculous.

One thing that nagged me though was when creating my FemHawke, I didn't feel there were good black eyeliner/eye shadow options.

Obviously Orana's makeup was done by Hadriana, as a form of mockery and torture.

** snippy piccy*

Just imagine what she used to do to Fenris.  No wonder he was so mad.

Oh god, please, I need someone to write this in a fanfic.

I want better eyeliner options for our PC. In DA2 Isabela had nice, coal-rimmed eyes that I wanted for my character, dammit!

As far as other characters are concerned nothing will beat the ridiculousness of Catwoman's clown makeup in Arkham City, so I have *NO* complaints with the ladies of DA.

Since I started the makeup thread, it would be good guess that I didn't have too much of a problem with most makeup itself. Though I would have liked smoky eye looks (with good lighting so she doesn't have raccoon eyes) but I could not get FemHawke to have a noticable jawline or "sharper" features at all, which was royally annoying.

That was the biggest thing that bugged me about FemHawke- no sharp jawline and other facial features.

But this is about makeup, so yeah. I think they can do better.

Well, we don't really know what the woman of DA3 will look like, BioWare is using the frostbite 2 engine, so we got a good guess as to what they'll look like, but no real picture. This is just going to be a waiting game till the game is released.

Indeed.

This should also apply to real life too.

I want to make my badass female world-saver without make-up. I've never figured out where Morrigan got eye shadow in the first place--Wilds Avon ladies? It seemed to me she would hold such frippery in utter disdain as she did pretty much everything else.

I do, however, expect the ladies (and, as dancarrero suggests, the foppish gents) of Val Royeaux to rock serious make-up and ridiculous outfits. And wigs. With birds in them. I want to go to a ball and just stare at BioWare's creativity in making them look fashionably insane.

Oh, I would not be mad about it there, I would expect it. It just looked weird from the cloistered sister, the witch in the middle of the woods, and on skeletal, hollowed eyes, soul eating elf faces.

Orlais needs more makeup than RuPaul and more sparkles than Edward Cullen. Some of the Kirkwall ladies (like the lady wearing bright blue, the one getting dragged away by Qunari) might have been just poorly imitating it.

I'm not exaggerating when I say that I was about to post everything you just said. Agree, on all four counts. Bravo. *golf claps*

Also, this is a problem:

Are you in there, Cassandra? Hello? Your voice sounds muffled. Oh, you're buried under more layers of makeup than the Grand Canyon? That's Bullsh*t!

I support makeup when it fits the character. Aveline w/ lipstick just struck me as weird. But then, so did her sashaying around Kirkwall like me, and all of the female companions.

Aveline didn't sashay. Her stance and walk was the same as the male guards.

A grainy screen shot from a three year old image when BioWare was still working on Cassandra's appearance.

The Grand Canyon has no makeup. It has layers, but your sentence structure suggests that this is of subservient importance to the makeup. This is a failure of figurative language.

Yeah, it wasn't different, the armor just hid it well, but she still has her arms in that T-Rex pose.

The face would look bland without some color variations, especially since there are no skin folds or other surface irregularities.
