So i use to prefer DA2 over DAO,becouse i'm a pretty young gamer(I'm 15,i guees i should't be playing dragon age at all :P).But now as i'm a more mature gamer(i think at least),i tried DAO again, and I'm amazed in how deep the story art and combat are while being beutifull and dark at the same time,so realistic so good,so amazing.DAO is a masterpeice i want DAO:2 now becouse i want that depth of an RPG back,It is really an RPG with hard but satisfiying combat, customisation, amazing story and hard decisions.DA2 was kind of a let's call it a 'fun game'.What do you guys want DAO:2 like game or DA2:2 like game?

I would hope that Bioware(in an ideal world) would take the time to craft a game in the DA world much like DAO with some little bits from DA2 that were great, but it seems they are going to be taking more from DA2 going forward(faster development that way).

I do miss a lot of things from DAO, like the little details. Birds flying around the Tower of Ishal and all the books littering the Circle Tower, for example.

Too bad little things like that were removed. They added to the game. I felt the pacing of DAO was better also, and the game as a whole felt so much larger.

I hope one day an ideal world comes to be and Bioware goes back to making what felt like a deep and engrossing RPG again(DAO).

A Prince can dream.

Oh, and if you think DA3 is going to be very much in the same vein as DAO, you are very likely to be disappointed. As such was one of the biggest criticisms of DA2.

I take it the majority knows better now.

Lol. I don't want to disappoint you but from what we know so far, we'll have something close to DAII. We didn't hear anything yet about a feature taken from DAO.

Well they already said they wouldn't go back to Origins combat because *removes fanboy goggles* it's dated and incredibly slow, not fast enough for a modern game. Though I think we can expect a better story and deeper character interaction because that was a big criticism for DA2. The best thing would to have fast tactical combat (it's possible). It seems like the game will have a lot of work put into and DA2 was mostly bad because it was rushed, a year or two more of development and it would have been good I'm sure.

First step of liking DA3:
- Compare it to DA2

Following these step means there is a very low chance of disappointment from DA3.

As far as combat pacing goes, faster than DAO but slower than DA2 works for me.

Also, have combat made the way it was in DAO. Tactical rather than rushing in and having enemies drop in.

DAO's combat was fine, but faster and with some of the improvements from DA2 would make it much better.

Feels like I'm reading a copypasta but anyways...

I prefer DA2 all around, the cooldowns and needing to move around in combat was well done. Artwise my femHawke preset with the red paint blew away anyone else I've seen in the DA universe in terms of beauty(which is obviously a subjective matter). Loved the timeskips as well.

A nice blend of the two would go down just fine with me.

I wonder how this still manages to suprise people It was said YEARS ago that voiced PC was here to stay and has only been reinforced since then.

Well it was only 3 years ago that DAO came out and back then only ME1 was the only game with voiced PC so people, including me, probably thought ME was the cinematic RPG while DA series was the more classic style Bioware RPG.

Well 2 years (Or more like 1.5 years) doesn't scream "YEARS AGO" to me.

There were elements of DA2 that I really liked. I actually liked the combat, other than the the whole 'You think you're done with this tedious battle? Nope! 400 random archers just fell out of sky!' bit, but I really miss the tactical feel of the DA:O combat.

And over all I prefer DA:O. I like the characters better, I liked the character interactions better, I like the setting better (I got real sick of Kirkwall after a while. Mark of the Assassin was a refreshing change), I loved the origin stories, and the story felt deeper. So yeah I wish we could have a DA:O 2. But I know that is not happening.

Eh. I tried going back to DAO. I wondered if maybe I was missing something, that I was somehow missing what other people were saying and DA2 was really this huge letdown from the storied epic of DAO.

It was fun going through the City Elf origin again — if that had been the only origin in the entire game, I would have been happy — but I didn't stick with it. I missed DA2's aesthetic, the dialogue system, the faster combat, and so on and so forth. It feels like taking a step backward.

well damn I want DA:O 2 as well.:crying:

I agree OP DA:O was rich with story, origins, roleplayability, consequences and NPC interaction that to this day is a wonderful way to spend the afternoon and the MODS oh God the MODS!

Thats what they are doing(supposedly), the question is-

What does Bioware consider the best parts of both games?

For all we know, Bioware might think the best part of DA2 is reusable environments and the best part of DAO is slow combat.

Now, we know that's not the case, but my point is-

"The best of both" is still up in the air.

I feel your pain, but there's nothing that can be done at this point to convince BioWare otherwise. It's best to just give up & accept Origins as a one hit wonder.

LOL.

Bioware will never do an unvoiced protagonist ever again. They will never do another game like DAO. It's going to be more action, more cinematic scenes, more multiplayer. Not less.
