I think his gimmick has worn thin for me, so I'd either like just a brief cameo, or I'd want to see him regain his senses and tell us what his deal is.

I'd guess more people would want to see them as traveling companions or living with you than not, so they'll likely be traveling companions or live with you.

Wouldn't mind them having a shop or something, but yeah actually becoming attached to the player character's party in a similar way to the previous games might be a bit much.
I mean, I don't want them written out, they are a fun tradition up to a point. Plus, now that they -have- explored Sandal being 'special' a bit more I wouldn't be adverse to getting some further explanation about that. Not talking Sandal = Old God stuff, just. y'know, something.

They already did this, it was called the extended cut I believe

It would be fine if they made an appearance and I expect them too, but they got carried away with Sandel in DA2 and I would like them to have smaller roles.
